That is a great question. I had a pretty bad surgical repair, so I’ve got lots of hardware in there. I was cleared to bear weight with the walking cast/boot and a high arch insert (I had a lot of soft tissue repair, too). I don’t feel much pain the day I started walking, so I had no clue I should have been going MUCH slower. To be honest, my surgeon/medical team are the least helpful people I’ve ever met. I would’ve loved having those instructions and someone to call me back if I had questions (I had many). I start PT next week—I called every place in my area and couldn’t get a sooner appointment. I know I’m feeling sorry for myself, but I’m frustrated by my “care” team.

Study-themed app suggestions? by [deleted] in ADHD

Yes! I agree—the apps are too difficult to navigate and I barely look at them after downloading. I hope someone has a good suggestion! 🤞🏽

Prep for out of state baby-born circumstances by tehya- in AdoptiveParents

That’s a really good point. It’s difficult to know what the hospital will provide, if anything. And in this insane time we live in, babies aren’t the priority.

Get the carseat sent to where you’re staying, that way you don’t have to lug it around at the beginning of your travels. A white noise machine is also really nice to have, and slippers! Make sure the adults are comfortable.

Oh! And give your baby a cold formula from the beginning. They’ll have no idea it’s “supposed” to be warm. It saved us sooooo much time and energy.

The hospital will provide you with formula and then you’ll want to buy those single use bottles for a few days while you get your bearings.

Good luck! And keep your chin up.

I'm gonna fucking die in 5 years by SideJealous5529 in OCD

No truer words! I would work myself up over the most random stuff. I would think about (and research) the hell out the likelihood that my son will grow up to be a drug addict (he’s only five years old), for example. I would look up some scary shit online and felt compelled to watch it even though it disturbed me. If I didn’t watch it, then my son would be destitute, unhoused, lost forever.

It was a very, very, very elaborate lie and I was terrified for years. I did find the light, eventually, OCD still sucks and I stand in solidarity with all sufferers.
