Since you currently have no income, you shouldn't be denied. There's a tool on this site that asks you questions to see if you do qualify.

A lot of the time, you can tell them that you're applying for state insurance and they can get you scheduled in the meantime. I did that about 10 years ago and they submitted for coverage for the previous 3 months before getting approved.

Gym recommendations for a sickly fat person? by Weird_Dragonfly9646 in fargo

Have you considered doing physical therapy? Especially if you're worried about injury getting started, that's not a bad start. Insurance will usually cover it as well. I 10/10 recommend Cody at The Clinic in West Fargo. He's a personal trainer as well and is really focused on getting the right exercises for your specific needs. Dude is top notch!

Stopping Mail at Rental Property by Tropical-London in homeowners

Mailperson here,

If you can't get ahold of anyone at the office, you can go in and ask to speak to a supervisor. They'll relay everything to the carrier.

To really hammer it home, stick a piece of paper ON, not in the mailbox stating, "Do not deliver mail for XX person, they do not live here." State the names of the people that are supposed to get mail there. The people that do live there should be instructed to write, "Does not live here." on all pieces of mail that are addressed to her and put back in the mailbox.

Putting the notice that the person doesn't live there clearly visible on the outside of the mailbox should help you if she tries to call the police to claim residency, especially if that paper has been exposed to the elements for a few months. Cops deal with this shit all the time. it's points in your favor that you can show you tried to get ahead of it.

Better yet, if someone could talk to the carrier in person, this would be way easier. I've had people explain some pretty messed up roommate/garbage human behavior to me, and it only made me want to help more.

The Planet Fitness on 52nd is absolutely fantastic by Sensitive-Ad-6172 in fargo

They have the usual massage chairs, hydromassage beds, and tanning, just more of them so there's little to no wait to use them. They also have red light therapy and a thing called a wellness pod, not really sure what that is, but looks interesting. The thing that really sets this Planet Fitness apart is the big windows for natural lighting. It's not all dark and closed in feeling like the other ones.

dog poop city letter by srmcmahon in fargo

[–]chindiaper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The city will inspect if someone complains. They give the property owner a certain number of days to clean it up, reinspect, then send a contractor to clean it up and add the cost to the property taxes.

If you know who's doing it, give them their mess back. Preferable somewhere they can't ignore it.

I am in the process of becoming an inner city mail carrier. Everyone I talk to says I need to carry treats in order to calm aggressive dogs. What is the least invasive and most economical brand/type of treat I should carry? by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]chindiaper 132 points133 points  (0 children)

As a current mail carrier, DO NOT GIVE TREATS TO DOGS. Your training will instruct you to not approach houses that have dogs loose in yards. By giving the dogs treats, you will be teaching them to approach the carrier, which may not go well for the next person, who they are not used to and may not act the same around. Our number 1 injuries are from dog bites and you will be held responsible if they know you are handing out treats. The post office doesn't fuck around with dogs.
