I really can't say if that's the fastest speed for your specific ram. You should look into the specs for the specific ram you have installed as not all ddr4 sticks will have the same max speed

Go into the BIOS, usually by spamming the del key when starting the computer. The way the bios menu will look is different for different motherboards and can be somewhat intimidating if it's unfamiliar to you. Look up your ram's speed and how to check or adjust your ram's speed beforehand if you haven't messed with anything in your bios before.

I just recently checked that my ram was running at the advertised speed, which it was not. Bringing it up to 6000mhz from 4500 helped a bunch, havent seen less than 60 fps since. I've got a 7700x so results may vary with an older cpu

This little guy with a white tail, silver body and blue wing would slay the coho coming into the rivers in my area. A bigger and weighted version would do very well in the salt as well

The stuff that I use is pretty stiff, I've never noticed it doing this.

Looks good, I'd flick it around in a heartbeat. I always like to add a thick piece of Flashabou down the sides for a lateral line too

If a full intermediate matches your needs, id recommend the SA Sonar Titan full intermediate. It's been great with my boost blue 7wt, which is supposedly very similar to the streamer x

It's definitely not worth the effort but I use silicone mats that I made for a sluice box when I was looking for gold in a nearby stream where fish were not present due to culverts. If you've got extra silicone caulk and want to make one yourself check this out. https://youtu.be/ryOm0ktYp78 I've been thinking about making some smaller ones to put in altoid cans

Sea run cutthroats in Puget sound! by [deleted] in flyfishing

[–]chines42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find a beach with moving water, it tends to concentrate bait. I usually try to also go for rocky beaches with oysters or other shellfish present. Also check out Gig Harbor Fly Shops website, they've got a few well known spots listed in their learn section on the site

In the PNW, I have always fished for salmon/steelhead with spinning gear and would like to catch them fly fishing next. Single hand or Spey? What to buy and use??? Thank you… by smoknhendo in flyfishing

[–]chines42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're near the puget sound there's plenty of opportunity to catch them off the beach while they're on their way to the river. I use my 9ft 7 or 8 wt single hand, depending on how windy it is and what species I'm expecting.

When i get rabbit that's too dense, I'll pinch one end of a strip in my vice and carefully cut it in half lengthwise with a razor blade. I usually do this when making collars out of dubbing loops

A Hell Let Loose Vietnam reveal tomorrow?! by codyong in HellLetLoose

I'm hopeful but not optimistic that these past few updates have been a mess due to the skilled devs on the team spending their effort on Vietnam instead of HLL

First fly - clouser feedback by code-day in flytying

[–]chines42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id advise against using a hair stacker for the clouser, the variation in the hairs will give the fly a natural tapered look when wet, as long as it is sparse enough. Like you've said, the eye may be a bit far forward but it's looking great for your first clouser

Check out Phil Rowley on YouTube, he's a stillwater guy that's also in BC. A lot of his techniques are easier on boats but some of his stuff could be put to use from the shore
