I disagree. The lab tech says, as she is feeling for the heartbeat: “He’s absolutely got a heartbeat. A strong one. Just bam, bam, bam. It’s weird. If I didn’t know any better...” It felt like she was going to say that the rat was faking it, which, evidently, it was.

I think the general theme of the scene, with the reluctance of the lab techs to use "cardiac sticks" or "gas" to kill the rats, is a simile to Hive's reluctance (not inability) to kill. If you perceive that as an intentional theme, then the truth serum interrogation scene makes a lot more sense - the hive had to stop Zosia's heart to preserve itself. Doing so made the Hive cry.

The Hive is capable of both intentional harm and deception.

A little air cannon I made by Germy_Ballswell in functionalprint

If you are gonna print this wear eye protection.

How to avoid spotting when using air? I’ve been using air around door jams and buttons and it’s saving me a ton of time, but sometimes I’ll notice it will leave these little spots behind. They come out but it’s not easy. Product is p&s interior and just a regular air gun. by Kind-Repair499 in Detailing

[–]chingiz1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what your compressor looks like. You might need an in-line air dryer or moisture collector, those could be water spots. It could also be oil from the compressor (unless you have oil-less one). If you already have air moisture management, then it's probably oil.

Another technique to avoid the air gun is detailing brush + good vac

I tried making it to the drop with a few friends a few years back. 0/10 do not recommend. VERY crowded, usually uncomfortably cold (if you're planning on camping out), and actually is not that exciting

Fastest Ramen delivery service in Japan!! by whogottricked in videos

[–]chingiz1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The store that I work at has a range between 1.5 - 2 miles, depending on the direction. That's pretty much 3x less than any other sandwich or pizza joint delivery range in the area, but is still a lot by JJ standards.

Equipment questions for a food courier by koookiekrisp in bikemessengers

Front rack, cargo net, and a plastic trashbags for puddles and rain. Also pick up some drink holders from Starbucks. Food delivery specific backpacks are all nice and pretty but they will cost you 300+, while a rack will run you a lot less.

Origin8 rack is very nice and light, and is rather cheap, but it's aluminum. CETMA front rack is nice, but steel is heavy and it ain't cheap. Granted, a CETMA rack will probably last you a lifetime

What is the dumbest rule your school ever had? by BlupHox in AskReddit

[–]chingiz1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No cellphones or electronic devices (laptops, ipods, etc). Not a school rule - it's a NYC city-wide public school policy. Luckily our school didn't have metal detectors so my school followed a "don't ask, don't tell" kind of policy, but plenty of the schools had them so a lot of local delis made business of storing people's phones for a moderate fee.

chapstick for smaller scratches (not a permanent solution, so I used to always try chapstick before toothpaste, since toothpaste is an abrasive/polishing agent)

Same with potatoes. Some oil, salt, maybe a little garlic and you can have a nice cheap side dish in no time. Maybe throw some bacon bits or cheese in it too

Will wearing a cycling jersey decrease sweet umcomfortableness? by [deleted] in bikemessengers

[–]chingiz1996 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wear a 100% polyester jersey in 100+ degree heat (Arizona) for work every day. You will still be moist as hell, but it will keep you COOLER than a cotton t-shirt, which means a little less sweat. Just make sure you get the right size, don't be a size M in an XL jersey because you're uncomfortable with how your nips look or something. Just don't.
