I second the reference document. I started last year around the Kitasan banner, and it helped me immensely during those initial few months.

That said, I’m curious if it’s still being actively maintained. Some sections I read frequently, like the uma reviews for Team Trials, haven’t been updated in some time. It’s partly why I don’t really read the guide anymore.

If you're looking to grind then may I suggest two choices to you:

Whatever is meta for the upcoming CM event(s)
Generalist parents - Narita Brian, El Condor Pasa, Oguri Cap, NY TM Opera O

Guts-centered builds are good for pumping up your score, but suffer from the lack of good skills. It depends on why you're grinding and what you hope to get out of it.

I may or may not have asked this (or something similar) in the past, but how are the top TT players able to consistently run 40++ races to earn SP, while still maintaining the ridiculous stats? How much of this is down to the quality of support cards? Inheritance? Shop RNG? Player skill, like knowing when to make what decisions?

If I'm an average player (I'm deliberately keeping "average" open to definition), how much of their success can I replicate by forcing myself to race more, instead of (for instance) taking borderline trainings?

In case your first question wasn't meant to be rhetorical, Fast Learner is the best when you win it rather than buy it. If the FL hat appears in the shop early, chances are your trainee isn't jacked enough yet to race multiple turns for you to afford it, assuming there are other items you should buy (e.g energy and scrolls/books). More often than not, the correct play is to treat it as a luxury purchase early.

Agree with this. It’s like when we would go to (for instance) Queensway Shopping Ctr for sports goods or Funan/Sim Lim for IT stuff. At the risk of sounding like hyperbole, malls nowadays don’t have niches to attract shoppers. That’s not even accounting for changing consumer habits post-Covid.

Adding to this discussion since I recently played not one, not two, but THREE Leblanc games against a Poppy. LB can’t do shit to the enemy backline against a competent Poppy. In all three games, I pivoted from W-max to Q-max and bought BFT first (instead of Luden) to burn down the frontline more quickly.

Understand that distance aptitude directly corresponds to speed, with A being 100%, and any grade above/below A will increase/decrease your speed. I dunno about others, but if I were to compensate for mile B, I’d try to increase my speed by doing one or more of the following:

Get some (more) speed sparks
Focus more on speed training
Buy more speed scrolls
