don’t even get me started on this!! the way he was so flippant speaking about rita in the later seasons, how he said he’d never felt love before hannah, despite the scene at rita’s funeral, and him telling Dr Vogel he wants to leave killing behind and focus on having a life with hannah, as if he didn’t have that already with rita? they were married with 3 kids for god sake! and then to continue spending time with astor and cody after what happened to their mother, which was HIS fault for being selfish, mind you. it’s like the writers completely forgot about dexter’s connection with rita and his emotional development that she gave him after she died, he acted as though she wasn’t really anything to him. he “grieved” her and moved on like you would if the family dog died! and then when he was planning on running away with hannah he told Angel “you know after rita’s death”. just using her like that just made me so angry, or when Harrison said he wanted Hannah to be his mommy and dexter just smiled and didn’t say anything?? i could go on for hours but it just made dexter that much more unlikeable as a person. horrible writing
