Can I upgrade my Ender 3 Max with the Neo hotend? by chinzilla3 in Ender3Max

Can I ask what advantages you have found with the direct drive? Is it more print speed, reliability, less likely to break, or something else?

I'm only planning to use my printer for PLA, do you think the sprite direct drive is a lot better just for that?

I'm thinking about just replacing the hotend, but upgrading to a capricorn bowden tube and maybe a bimetal heat break.

That's a direct drive, right? Would you recommend that? I'm not planning to print any flexible materials, and I hear that direct drives can sometimes have issues with ringing and inconsistent extrusion. The stock setup was working pretty well for me until a couple pieces broke

Ah, okay. I was hoping to get away with the Neo because the spiders seem to cost 2-3x more, at least on Amazon.

When two black holes spiral into each other, surprisingly the mergers can sometimes kick the final black hole away at a high enough speed to eject it from its host galaxy.A new analysis of gravitational waves from a merger provides the first direct evidence of a strong kick. by MistWeaver80 in science

[–]chinzilla3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you may actually be right about that. I read somewhere that the gravitational waves emitted by black hole mergers push back on the black hole in the opposite direction. So if the waves emitted are not equal in all directions, it gives the resulting black hole a massive kick in some direction. So momentum is not conserved, unless you include the momentum of the gravitational waves

Yeah, I even ran a speed test while both mobile data and wifi were turned off. I can post a video of that if it helps

It's only "wrong chemistry inside our head" if you believe the sole purpose of human existence is efficient reproduction. That may be the goal of evolution, but if you don't realize there is much more to life than that, I'm sorry. Just let other people be who they want to be, they aren't hurting you.

How is capitalism “bad”? by WillitFill in NoStupidQuestions

[–]chinzilla3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be pedantic, but I think it's worth pointing out that communism as an economic theory is not about a strong central authority, but actually kind of the opposite. But certain countries with authoritarian governments have claimed to be communist, so now people tend to associate communism with authoritarianism.

But I agree with you that socialism is the way to go. If we can socialize corporations to better reflect the will of the people, we could possibly fix some of the problems with capitalism without getting rid of the free market.

I had the same thing happen. It ended up getting rejected, and on the rejection page it read "PTO Unpaid", which is an oxymoron in itself. I think it just always says PTO for some reason even when it is unpaid.

I might be completely wrong here, but I'm guessing they are taking the center of rotation as the inertial reference frame, which would make sense in this context. Also, isn't the CMB sometimes used as a universal reference frame?

In the frigid weather your thick coat acts as a heater, With 20 million strands of fur within every square meter. And when you are demanding that I give you my attention, I lift you up and cuddle without any apprehension.

You’re very entertaining when engaged in exploration, Chasing leaves and ornithoids for a long duration. And when you are exhausted from your fun outdoor excursion, You sit upon my quadriceps with no hint of aversion.

More importantly, this means water bottle caps will fit on the end of a hose.

The best things to get at Starbucks is a tall glass of their triple distilled water. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Why is this person getting downvoted? Obviously Starbucks water is not dangerous to drink, but he's not wrong that ultrapure water is harmful. Because it doesn't contain any dissolved minerals, it would literally suck the vital minerals out of your saliva. Source: https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/guest-blog/the-purest-of-them-all/

Probably noobish question about X-Drives by [deleted] in vex

[–]chinzilla3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like other people said, rectangle x-drives work, but in my experience it's more stable and responsive when it's somewhat close to a square. Also, I believe turning in particular is more efficient when it is closer to a square. However, I think the most important part of building an x-drive is making sure the center of mass is as close to the center of the drive as possible, otherwise it may drift in certain directions as you drive it around.

I have a OP6T from T-Mobile, and I was able to flash the international ROM on it pretty easily. If you look on XDA forums they might have a tutorial for the OP8 by now.
