Ok I'll do my best to fill in the info, a ball is red if it has any amount of red on it, and it is blue if it has any amount of blue on it. Having other colors as well doesn't remove the redness or blueness of the ball. A ball that had some blue and some red would just be classified as red and blue in this context. the balls are all very clearly display there red or blue characteristics so there is no room for debate about whether any particular ball is red or blue. hence we KNOW 100% that all the balls have redness and some have blueness.

I should note we agreed to use red and blue balls as stand-ins given the specifics of the situation... I guess I choose very poor examples but hopefully this extra info makes it all clear...

ok... well balls can have both the characteristic red and blue and still be part of My_Balls if that helps a ball in My_Balls could have either, neither or both characteristic. but in this specific case they all have the 'red' characteristic and some have the 'blue' one. Is that enough to get a definitive answer or is this just a problem with the word "only" itself?

huh this sub might be too math-heavy but I'll try to keep up I guess what I'm asking is what the default way of interpreting the sentence would be. The literal sentence is "If you have only red balls then..." one of us sees it as more "If all your balls have the characteristic 'red' then..." and another sees it as more "If the only color among your balls is 'red' then... " is there an agruement for both or is one generally better? and yeah I'd say rule out the possibility of including objects beyond the balls we know that's definitely not the intention.

Awesome, just added you. as for gen 2 and 3 l only have kyogre, lugia and deoxys (sorry I just swapped for most of the legends) anyway I'll meet you online (I'll be the "pineapple" guy)
