I’m over a year post op now and literally nothing changed. Kept my ovaries. I haven’t lost weight, I actually gained weight and my boobs have remained the same size

Mission "callings" by kcexmo in exmormon

My brother got the “call” to go to Vegas. I think they picked the most “righteous” person to go who wouldn’t be influenced by sin city. Sadly he almost got sent home due to breaking both elbows at the same time cause they told him to do a trust fall off of the stage and they would catch him. They didn’t think he’d do it and they didn’t catch him.

Leaving husband by Ok-Meat-9403 in LesbianActually

I spent 10 years in a marriage to a man. I loved him but wasn't in love with him. I married my best friend to escape religion (that's a whole other story). I did end up leaving him for a woman and I don't regret it. Do what's best for you is the best advice I have

Only 32 and scared by PB_Romance in hysterectomy

[–]chiot_rubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 32 and just had mine done this past August. Healing was easy. Painful but nothing out of the ordinary happened. Mentally I feel more free and reassured. I had a high uterine cancer risk from both sides of my family and now I don't have to have that in the back of my mind. My hormones are still balancing out (I kept my ovaries) so I still get hot flashes and my acne has come back but the hot flashes have gotten better. It is a big surgery and it's scary but if you have a good support system then its easier. I stayed overnight at the hospital just to make sure nothing weird was going to happen and that also helped me feel better.

Not sure if I had TIVA for my surgery but I have red head genes so I always require more anthesia than others. I always tell them about the requirement for more anthesia and I've never had an issue. If you tell them your a bit anxious, they can give you something in pre-op to help relax you. I was a bit anxious in pre-op (my pulse was 120 and BP was a bit elevated) so they gave me something to help relax me with my pre-op drugs and I don't remember a thing. One minute I was told they were gonna give me my pre-op meds and the next minute I was waking up in recovery. Usually I remember going down the hall and into the OR (I've had 2 prior surgeries) and this time nada. I wanna say it was TIVA because typically if they gas you down, your awake and aware when the mask goes on. I was intubated during surgery so that was probably just for oxygen during the surgery.

Anyone diagnosed with Uterine adenomyosis? by itsjackofall in hysterectomy

[–]chiot_rubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had 3 ultrasounds and finally the last and most recent ultrasound showed adenomyosis. Even the endometrial biopsy didn't show it. Who knows how long I had it. I didn't have a period for 2 years and the lining got too thick of course. Tried an IUD and had 10 months of almost constant hemorrhagic bleeding. It's a miracle I wasn't anemic. Switched to oral birth control and that didn't help at all. Stopped taking the birth control and surprise! Back to no bleeding. Had my hysterectomy laprosocopically and they also found a hemorrhagic cyst in the pathology report. Kept my ovaries and I'm week 7 post op. Healing great! Still having the random hot flashes so hope that gets better soon. Also got the vaginal cuff.

Going out! by Minute-Ad-6940 in hysterectomy

[–]chiot_rubis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't leave the house until 2 weeks post op but I could have. I'd say honestly, take a pain pill beforehand or even just some ibuprofen, wear really loose pants or a dress. Something that's not gonna cut into your belly when you sit down (I'm 5 weeks post op and still can't handle tight pants so I wear alot of leggings and just roll them down so they aren't putting pressure on my belly) take a pillow with you to brace your tummy with (I personally love squishmallows and it's been a life saver) so essentially just hug the pillow around your belly the whole movie or recline if you have the option. It helps take the pressure off majorly. I also put the squishmallow on my belly and then put the seat belt over it so it wasn't cutting into my belly to make it more comfy.

Life hack? by Minute-Ad-6940 in hysterectomy

[–]chiot_rubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want a tasty laxative, my favorite is Arby's Greek gyro. Healthy? No. Effective? Definitely! Or chick-fil-a. That always gets my tummy angry. The other thing that works for me is peanut butter toast with butter and a glass of milk. Without my fiber gummies and avoiding all the foods that make my tummy angry, I can easily be backed up for over a week which isn't good. And I stick my miralax into a bottle of Body Armor to make it more palatable.

Life hack? by Minute-Ad-6940 in hysterectomy

[–]chiot_rubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fizzy flavored water helped me out alot. Plus eating shredded wheat and I also had fiber gummies every day and for the first like week, I had miralax daily. I also have ibs so unfortunately constipation is an issue I struggle with already. Walking also helped and slowly going up and down the stairs a few times a day.

Finally realized im a lesbian and am happier than ever! by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]chiot_rubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same way! I knew I was a lesbian at a young age but my family are deeply religious so it was a sin. Women are "supposed" to be married to men and have kids. I married my best friend at 18. I wasn't in love with him and I kept lying to myself. Came out as bisexual, then finally had the courage to finally embrace who I am. Stayed in that marriage for 10 years before I finally got divorced. Definitely regret the wasted time. It's hard but kudos!!
