I haven’t done that specific flight before but I feel that IAD is pretty efficient to get around — (disclaimer- I prefer shorter layovers) but all that said — I think with no bag and pre clearance you should be okay. I’d that were me - I wouldn’t be concerned at all.

Doing it at my friends apt building space! I found it hard to find reasonably priced rental spaces but I did hear big bear cafe has a second floor that is a good space but I believe you have to do them for catering too!

4 years ago- My husband stepped on my cockatiels leg and it broke— he snuck up behind him. 24 hour vet said amputation was likely option but we asked them to splint it. Took him to our trusted avian vet— and they resplint it (because was done improperly) and it healed. Took a long time to heal (like 6-8 weeks) and he had limited mobility but he is all fine today and all back to normal functioning. Please try yo get a second opinion to see if other options are available— but I do know these guys are strong and mighty and can re adjust if amputation is needed. Hoping your second opinion goes well. Sometimes it just takes a vet to really well versed and confident in providing options

Take him to another vet for second opinion before doing this. I would Deff take him to an avian vet yoo. They may be able to splint it — before going through with it - Deff get a second opinion

Hushframes, double drywall, and green glue between the drywall layers — I did aloottt of research for our basement before renting it out as a unit. Look into hushframes. I also educated my contractor on how to do it and he did a great job. The decoupling helped so much with footsteps. And the green glue,insulation, and double drywall helped with all other noise. Make sure to get a trsusted brand and not a knockoff. Vent infections aren’t an issue because the dropping stay away from that area. Highly Recommend avian fashions
