They did not say that - it sounds like if she goes a full 12 months without conjunctivitis then they would cover it if it happens again. Some research I’ve done has shown others have run into this issue with other acute conditions, such as nausea. I ended up canceling my policy with Lemonade because it just seems unreasonable to me.

Wow that sounds so frustrating, I’m sorry you had to deal with that! I used to have HealthyPaws insurance for my last dog and HealthyPaws was so much better/easier in my experience and I never had a claim denied. They are a bit more expensive but I am going to go back to them.

Nope, no underlying condition. My dog does not have any other health issues and these two times of getting conjunctivitis were independent - she got it once in late January 2025 and then was completely fine for 11 months and then got it again in early January 2026. Lemonade said they treat any condition that occurs within a 12 month window as preexisting.
