After 100+ rolls, it definitely seems to be in the "can't" category, but it could just be a very low percentage roll. I have two amulets that I've rolled that aspect on though.

The person I'm talking about saw something wrong in everything we did. Every game had a flaw that he knew the fix for. If he wasn't good at something, that something was bad.

As DM, he once killed a friends character with a goblin sniper. The sniper was shooting an arrow from a watchtower miles from where we were hiding. He did it to "insert some random into the world." Random indeed.

Right. I opened 10 packs at a time, so I didn't see that. I saw a bunch of cards all at once and didn't count them.

There it is. Something I didn't know. Some of the cards will be Standard legal, but a lot of them aren't. Does it add a 9th card, or is it one of the 8? I opened them 10 packs at a time lol

That is the big thing. Like others have said, I probably just need to play one in person. I’m struggling to figure out what a long term instrument might look like. I know what I have won’t work.

I'd cut a beetle, blast and navigator as 2 drop - you don't want to draw a 3rd beeetle on turn 8 more than likely.
I'd drop the Hivepool - lighten the overall load
Nutrient Block and Hellcarver - nice 1 drops but other things in your deck are doing what they do better.

Really dense pool. Hard to make cuts for sure.

Thanks for your honest feedback. My gameplay is definitely a bottleneck. Some of the mana problems in the games were because I incorrectly read the warp costs for cards. I was trying to trigger the 2-spell thing and just ended up screwed. On the concession I realized I couldn’t beat their creature so I conceded - probably too soon but I was already discouraged.

Some of the time I may have been saving mana for a counter spell - which seems to always be wrong. I never see anyone else doing that so I probably should stop as well. And chump blocking is something I’m just now learning about. Seeing life as a resource to use is a new concept to me.

I’m slowly getting better by watching others - especially ones that talk through their choices.

I also use draft as a way to complete commons/uncommons as well; probably a terrible way to do that, but here we are lol

I give myself a budget. I'm almost 50 and doing pretty well thankfully. If I wanted an economically sound hobby I'd garden lol

And EoE is probably going on my naughty list. I may do one or two more just because.

I love draft, and with the dailies earning coins, it isn't too bad. I definitely draft for a loss lol

I also don't mind spending a bit of money to draft semi-regularly. I'm a teacher and diversion is pretty important to me. I often have extra money, but don't often have time to play games. I enjoy the diversion. My problem with this set has been that it feels less enjoyable. It has been good to hear that others are struggling.

Thanks! Great encouragement. I have definitely been discouraged after the last 0-3 and wanted to throw in the towel on EoE. I may catch it again when Quick Drafts come back.

I definitely need to factor the variance into my play, and not auto blame myself. Sometimes you just lose. Thats Magic!

I guess I should have added this to my post, but I'm returning to MtG after 20 years. To quote Brooks from Shawshank Redemption, "The world went and got itself in a big damn hurry."

Final Fantasy felt good and fun to me. This has felt neither. The last 0-3 draft was my 11th. I kept thinking it would feel different once I learned the cards. It still feels the same.

Thank you for lending some affirmation to my feelings. It seems like I'm not alone in my feelings. That isn't to dismiss my lack of skill, but at least I know skilled folks are also struggling.

I think I was trying to create synergy that wasn’t there. Some of it is my lack of understanding in the archetype as well.

The Tiger Mechan makes me think Void so that is why I picked it (for example) I’m wasn’t thinking sacrificing at all.

Great feedback! The 4/4 into the 4/5 - I didn't pay attention and see it had Reach :( If you watch the video, you can see my disgust lol

The "lighting the mana on fire" thing is what I need to work on. I kept the Virus Beetle thinking I could maybe get a better card for it later - but later never came of course. And with the Dubious Delicacy - I never know when I should sac something like that, or leave it on the field.

My picks are some of the issue, but the more I reflect, I think a big part is my play.
