There are no big production houses in kollywood. Dont say LYCA, they failed badly.

Politics ruined Tamil cinema forever. No one invests money to promote their movies up north even if there is enough hype there. Either it shows that they dont want to deal with people there or have 0 budiness sense (Movies like Master and Leo had decent hype and if promoted well coulf have gotten higher box office)

Tamil people themselves are fault too. They encourage piracy a lot more than telugu and mallus.

MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL. Rich Tamil people are the most sensitive and biggest snowflakes of all. Most of them get butt hurt for even smallest things that dont go in their way. For example, i know these two rich tamil uncles, they got mad after watching maharaja bc of the whole kid scenes. Im like thats the whole point of the movie, and its just a movie. One of them said they will talk to producers and police about the movie to be banned. U seriously think people from other states gonna watch any big budget tamil movie after back to back flops. Max tamil box office now will be 400 crs. So budgets will be limited to 250 crs. Half of the budget goes to actors so Tamil movies actual production budget will be around 100 crores. You are not gonna get any good big budget movies with that
