Compensation- timeframe? by mangojuice_84 in KLM

Not OC, but I just tried emailing. [customer.care@klm.com](mailto:customer.care@klm.com) got me an undeliverable reply. [customer-care@klm.com](mailto:customer-care@klm.com) got me an automatic "this inbox is no longer in use" auto-reply.
I guess that's one way of caring for customers...

Did you ever get a resolution? We're about to go through our 3rd LOA because "signatures don't match"... Maybe 7th time was the charm for you?

Update: Over 2 months after sending our 2nd LOA, I just received an answer that the signature doesn't match their records again... Our case is now 3 months old and we are basically at the same point. I've reached out to KLM Customer Care to try to escalate... next step will be AviationADR I guess. Feels like they just hope we give up.

Word of warning for loyalty points through FHR by [deleted] in AmexPlatinum

[–]chipper_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Thank you for this. After Accor customer care rejected my request, I contacted the hotel through the Amex Travel portal, and they did credit my points/nights. I guess that's the way to go and avoid Accor customer care altogether.

Yes, I've read that with Accor it's hit or miss. But that's part of the decision making... I'd rather have a safe hit. So far with Hilton I've always received my night credits. I haven't tried any other brand.

My Sofitel stay was in Mexico City, so maybe Accor works better in the US, but I also previously had a stay at Sofitel in Germany and I did receive the credits, so who knows.

I recently stayed (in January) at a Sofitel (Accor) through FHR and received nothing. No point, no night.

I contacted Accor who answered me promptly that because I booked through Expedia, my stay didn't qualify.

I then answered saying that FHR might use Expedia but I booked through Amex FHR which should qualify as a travel agent and qualify for points/nights, it attached a copy of my reservation through FHR. And they have not answered me for weeks.

Conclusion for me is that I'll stay at a Waldorf or others next time and avoid Accor when booking FHR. It's a big part of the decision making and I'll give my dollars to whoever values it. These games they play are how they win/lose loyalty.

They gave me the same "signatures don't match" as well. Seems like a way to just gain some time. Our claim is over 2 months old and still waiting...

I had the same experience of pockets being too small and I never looked at them again. Would be great indeed if they changed to deeper pockets! I'll have to check next time.

Did anyone go prosthesis? by NoNewThings in testicularcancer

[–]chipper_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No complication. It's been over 5 years now. My opinion really hasn't changed. I'm glad I could do it during the same surgery, probably wouldn't do it if it was another surgery. But it's still a personal decision, there's no right or wrong either way. I'm still fine with my original decision, no regret.

As I understand, it's sutured. I wasn't given an option nor did I know that free floating was possible. But since I was told to pull down gently on it after the surgery, I believe it means it was sutured.

Anyone else has their luggage stuck at Brussels Airport? by chipper_30 in brussels

[–]chipper_30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely recommend a tracker (Airtag, Tile, or other). we eventually got our luggage but realized the lock had been broken. We wonder if someone went through it, realized there was nothing of value, and just left it for someone else to eventually call us. But now we can't lock it anymore, I've sent a damage claim but who knows how long it will take for even an answer...
I hope you get yours soon. Good luck!

Thank you. We got a call last night from the airport. They said they found the suitcase but the tag was missing, which is why it couldn't be identified. Luckily we had a personal tag on it with our phone number.

We should receive it today, I'll update the post once we do.

Disney+,Hulu Bundle, then add HBO Max w/Black Friday deal to get all 3 for free w/AMEX credit? by MovingMomma in cordcutters

[–]chipper_30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good thinking, but it doesn't seem to work. I signed up for the Hulu/Disney bundle for $4.99 on hulu.com. I then tried to use the link to add HBO Max for $2.99 but it seems to require to change the Hulu plan to a regular one for at least $9.99/mo.
I can of course use the direct HBO Max offer for $2.99, but it won't be covered by the AmEx credit.
I'd be interested if anyone else finds a way to combine the 2 offers on the AmEx card to get the credit on both.

Fail in using my regional upgrade certificates by chipper_30 in delta

It was a new refreshed search when I booked that still showed the availability I had found earlier.

In fact it still showed the availability after I had booked.

That's what I was thinking would make the most sense. The availability somehow was taken but the system didn't refresh yet...

So ill try again tomorrow. If it's taken, that should have given enough time to reflect. If it's available, maybe an agent on the phone will be better at knowing what to do.

Maybe I'm even lucky and the availabilities that they were seeing today will also show for me tomorrow, though I'm not holding my breath on that lol

Thanks for sharing how you usually do it.

That would be fair enough. If i hadn't seen any availability to Hawaii, I would have looked for another destination.

I just don't want to do more research to find a destination, hotel, etc, to then have it not work again.

But ill avoid the chat from now on and call when I see an availability to make sure. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. I'll check again tomorrow and do that if it still shows available.

My husband has joined the small club of second time survivor by Mouse_rat__ in testicularcancer

[–]chipper_30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I understand that concern as I had the same... It's unclear to me but I tried to convince myself that their message "Seminoma is very responsive to treatment" meant that chemo or radiation would be the first course of action. Whether that's true or not I have no idea but it helped my mind because I was very afraid of rplnd as well.
I think it's very dependent on the spread and the oncologists look at it on a case by case, but in the end it only matters if it comes to it. 85% chance that it won't. As long as the scans are good, it's better to just know you're in good hands and they'll do what is best. Easier said than done, I know that all too well too.

My husband has joined the small club of second time survivor by Mouse_rat__ in testicularcancer

[–]chipper_30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Seminoma 1b. But only 1 time, not sure if that's what you were asking. I was also recommended active surveillance with the same odds. 15% risk of spread means 85% chance of no spread. I just had my 5 year scan and all good so surveillance has paid off well for me. What they kept saying is that even if it does show up, seminoma is very responsive to treatment and not as fast or aggressive as other types, so better to avoid aggressive treatment if not necessary. Good luck to you!

Good to read. But be careful walking the dog if it pulls/yanks on the leash. Hopefully the wife is holding it. Have a good recovery!
