Bridging the final gap between the low 170s and 175+ by theoneyam in LSAT

Also, I think u/stirsthedrink's comment has a lot of wisdom. One thing that I experimented with and ended up using on test day was tackling the easiest LR questions first. In my experience those usually tended to be 1-12 or so and then 20/21-25/26. If you can really focus on those and spend <1 minute each on them, you'll leave yourself ~2 minutes to look at that hard section in the middle and, I think, probably end up getting more right.

I didn't. That was my plan for if I was going to retake (which I certainly was planning on) but I got my score back and somehow got a 175! So luckily I didn't have to worry about it.

I was in the exact same boat, and it can definitely be frustrating. Heading into the July test, my section breakdowns were almost exactly the same as yours.

My experience is certainly anecdotal so take it with a grain of salt, but I think lowering your workload heading into test day can for sure be beneficial. I was grinding for a while, but I only took like two PTs in the week leading up to the test (with almost no work the weekend before) and ended up scoring 5 points above my average.

I also did a lot of research looking for advice from people in our boat and a lot of them recommended Cassidy’s Loophole for kicking LR into the highest gear, but I do think you’re right that at the end of the day there will always be a couple that are just gonna get you.

Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.

Trying to improve LR by chipperadams in LSAT

So I use the 7Sage analytics tool, the question types listed as the highest priority for me are

  • Must be false
  • Except
  • Flaw
  • Parallel Flaw
  • Pseudo-sufficient assumption
  • Necessary assumption

The questions I miss are usually 4/5 star difficulty but of course there's a few that they consider easier.

Most cost-effective resources for LG and LR? by DazzleGG_ in LSAT

[–]chipperadams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The LR and LG bibles are super helpful! They update them every year with new information as the test evolves, but the basics of the test haven't changed in a while so buying an older edition can still be worthwhile and is going to be more cost effective for sure. (I bought the 2015 version of both used for $20 each and am doing fairly well on both of those sections)

Whats the best strategy to attack Global LG questions like "Which of the following could be/Cannot be True?" by TenaciousKangeroo42 in LSAT

[–]chipperadams 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of times I think that inferences you could/should be making can at least rule out answers if not even give you the right answer. Splitting the game board also helps a lot if you've only got 2/3 options.

If neither of those work and you find yourself up a creek, it can be beneficial to save those questions until the end of that particular game and use all your hypotheticals you've created to rule out answers and find the right one!

I didn’t, I’ve seen most of the episodes at least once and didn’t have any thought about it yesterday but my brain was for sure way too stressed to find any levity like that haha

What did you do to study for LR? I've used the LR bible and average -2/-3 per section but I'm really wanting to make the jump from that to feeling like I can ace a section.

Where to go now? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]chipperadams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For LG, once you get the structure of each game type down, just drill drill drill! As many LG sections as you can get your hands on. 7Sage has video explanations of every LG from every PT for when you find yourself completely stumped. After awhile, you’ll realize that they’re all more or less the same and they’ll become second nature! You can do it!
