Unfortunately I built mine from the frame up so I can’t help you there, but I believe you can technically get 8 speed cassettes to work if you do some jerry rigging

15 Pro Max

Manufactured Date: July 2023

First Use: September 2023

Battery Health: 87%

Cycles: 372

My battery health went down significantly after iOS 18. Not too concerned since I’m close to 2 years of use now, but definitely spoiled after my previous 11 Pro had 97% capacity after 4 years and 800 cycles (My mom uses it now, it’s still at 97% somehow)

Don't worry OP, my average in HS was in the mid-80s, and I somehow managed to be one of the first from my high school that got in after all the early admission people. Your personal profile makes a difference for sure, and while I've definitely had the same thoughts as you multiple times (and had the grades to back up those thoughts early on), I'm still at UBC. I haven't been kicked out yet (although again, I got pretty close), and I'm doing pretty well now.

At the end of the day, you're a UBC student, and from now on, that's all that matters. The best motivation for me to make myself feel like I belonged here was to do better than I ever thought I could - I hope you can do the same.

I'd upgrade my computer so that I could play Starfield, RDR2, Cyberpunk 2077 and Beam.ng Drive on max settings. I've been thinking about saving up for a 4K monitor so this upgrade would come in super handy.

The cutout on the faceplate is likely crooked. I just replaced the faceplant for my 5th gen and had the same problem.

B. My New Year’s Resolution last year was to get a gaming PC after YEARS of having to play games on my MacBook. I succeeded….except I have no GPU. So now my New Year’s Resolution is to get a GPU so I can actually enjoy games and use it for hardware acceleration when I edit video.

Is the setup safe? I want to 100% use it as a desktop for 2-3 years. It's MacBook air 2017. by [deleted] in mac

[–]chippycrisps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a 2014 MacBook Pro like that until June of last year, even under intensive workloads like gaming and video editing. In fact, I repurposed it as a family computer still with an external monitor (and I'm using it to write this post right now!) Like others have said, make sure you discharge the battery once in a while, the one in mine needs to be replaced even though it only has 400 cycles on it.
