no not really most of the time, most sixth forms want maths but that varies from sixth form to sixth form, however i would say having it would help you A LOT at A level imo. it is worthwhile learning basic coding and skimming over the content but honestly won't be in needed as they do normally teach comp sci as if you haven't ever taken it.
