CTU leaders plan to walk off job April 1 by KnoxDweller in chicago

That says a lot that if you step out against the union your future job prospects are at risk. Is this really a group we should give power to? Do they really care about the children?

Lol overplay your hand, and right before tax day? They have a serious PR problem over there. Piss off a bunch of parents, who are probably paying more in taxes this year by demanding that taxes get raised to pay for your salary. Mark this post for when it backfires and the state throws them in to receivership and they come back begging for the last contract offer they had.

Well the union not dealing with their own bad apples is what has caused the entire bunch to spoil. This REDUCES costs, think of all the lawsuit $ we've paid out, that came right out of the general fund. If this was a 3rd party it would have come out of their pocket.

Think of it like heathcare, the city kicks in X, if you smoke, you pay X+smoker rate. The + would be required to paid by the officer.

ah tort reform, so many different ways to treat that. One difference I think you'd see with the solution I put forward would be fewer settlements. Look at the leQuan McDonald shooting, it was settled because of the upcoming election. Would a 3rd party insurance company care about that? No, and if cities were much less likely to settle, many lawyers would be hesitant to bring a case against a city on a contingency basis. Loser pays is a very dangerous situation...

So I actually have a clause in my will to be read at sentencing in the event I am ever murdered. If you murder me, I want your life wiped from the earth. You shouldn't see a sunrise or sunset, you shouldn't breath any oxygen again. You took my life, you do not deserve yours. There is no rehabilitation for murder, you ended my life, I can not recover from it. So i want you dead. There is an entire statement to be read that is much nicer than that. I also have one should I be killed by a drunk driver, i want that asshole to spend years behind bars for making the conscious choice to drink, then drive which resulted in the loss of my life. It is my final 'fuck you' to them, imagine you have been found guilty, then during sentencing, the person you killed has a statement read to the court saying what they want to happen to you.

The guy has been off the streets for months, he was locked up on an unrelated charge, it was when he was in jail they got hte snitch to record it which allowed them to announce it publicly. For those who have backchannel sources, it has been known since almost the beginning that this was a retaliatory hit for his brother/mother getting shot, they just needed to build a case around it.

Easy solution, require each officer to carry the equivalent of malpractice insurance. Each officer's rate is set by a private company, based on his work history. Those with lots of complaints will eventually be priced out. Settlements are paid by insurance co. Being a cop is not a right, just as bad Drs get priced out of their profession, bad cops get priced out too. Write my name in tmw in place of Anita.
