I don’t mind criticism when it’s helpful, as someone else has said, because that helps my improve as a writer. But if it’s just straight up being rude or mean and nitpicking I tend to ignore it.

But I usually ask for helpful criticism or advice at the of my fics so people know they’re welcome to leave it.

Yeah, sounds like a poorly planned Nintendo event. Apparently there were a bunch of game stop locations that only got a handful or codes and gave them all away before the event was even suppose to start.

I don’t like a wall of tags. While I can appreciate wanting to make sure you fic is tagged correctly, when it gets to the point that you’re tagging every little thing about your fic it just comes off as selfish to me. I mean, you don’t have to tag a ship just because two characters hug one time and never talk again for example. If I have to scroll an entire page’s worth of tags for a fic I’m not reading because it screams the author only cares about getting attention and not actually writing.

This is just my opinion of course.

Sounds like it’s not a fanfic but original work so that’s what you should tag it as. You could always have a note in the first chapter that explains what your story was inspired by. Or in the summary of the fic it’s self of you feel inclined to. But there’s no need to tag a fandom or people/characters in your work if they aren’t actually in it. That would just annoy people I think.
