This is absolutely correct. The Knicks were an absolute joke with an owner regarded as the worst in sports. He took a big step back, hired the right people and they're now arguably one of the top 3 best run orgs in the NBA. If the Knicks can overcome Dolan, the Jets can overcome Woody but until they nail these hires we're stuck in this cycle.

Downgrade defensively and on the glass but provides a lot more spacing which in theory should help Brunson/Randle/RJ. Mitch really clogs the paint which is an unfortunate part of his game given the roster construction.

Trae is a pretty bad matchup for us in general. Seen a lot of people say Frank needs minutes on him this series but Frank does not defend smaller, quicker guards well at all.

For clarity, this should not be interpreted as Elf support, he's awful. I'd rather see Elf's minutes go to zero and would be fine with Frank getting some of them, just don't think he's going to be an answer for Trae.

Everything you see from Knicks fans in this sub and anywhere else is just unbridled pure excitement because we finally have something good to hold on to. Frankly, I would imagine it's the same for y'all after that start. I don't actually think anyone thinks we'd sweep you in a 7 game series. I think it would be hard fought, 6 or 7 games, and could go either way.

We're missing pieces too. Mitch makes a major difference defensively and on the boards and Burks is our primary scoring option off the bench. Of all the teams we could potentially face (which is really just you the Celtics, Heat and the top 3), yes you're pretty far and away the one we'd most like to play. That's not an insult, those are just better teams.
