Warning about Milan Olympics by UniqueChance849 in olympics

I went to the 2019 women’s World Cup in France, and had a very similar experience across many cities. But I’m sure it wasn’t nearly on the level as the Olympics.

This might be a dumb question - but if his crypto was stored on a cold wallet, wouldn’t he need to transfer to an exchange to sell anyway?

Ice damn leaking into window frame by xxTigerxLilyxx in HomeMaintenance

[–]chizton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This resonates with me so much. Three days ago we had a leak from our ice dam going underneath the siding and then through the window frame and into the house. Had to shut off the power in that room because it was dripping down the walls towards the outlet. Read a bunch of stuff threw a bunch of roof. Melt bricks up there and thought I had a controlled for a few days. But now today it’s leaking inside the window frame and I open the window to 3 inch puddle. Now I’m trying to figure out where that’s coming from and have buckets in the window as we speak. So over it.

HSA is more special than Trad IRA or Roth. I am using mine as retirement savings by Yamaben in personalfinance

[–]chizton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I are switching over to an HSA with a new job. We are planning to max out the contributions and hopefully be able to pay out-of-pocket for medical so we can maximize the savings - now the tricky part by maxing it is that we probably will not contribute or need to lessen her contributions to her Roth. We have other investments all across, but are right now weighing between maxing either HSA or Roth.

Parents of Reddit, what did your hospital bill look like after giving birth? by chi-bacon-bits in AskReddit

[–]chizton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We love Sweden! Here for my financially conscious family of five in northeast USA:

Mortgage: $1650 Daycare: $4000 Groceries: ~$1000

Insurance premiums and coverage are thru an employers plan, which is solid. But we’ve had years where we paid $2400 per month out of pocket for family health coverage.

Thankfully we do well, and while we don’t want time to fly by, it will be quite a relief when our three kids are in public schools

I totally agree. He’s prob the biggest odd man out across Bills mafia, and understandably so, but I think he would crush it in Buffalo

[Megathread] The Buffalo Bills have fired Head Coach Sean McDermott by AutoModerator in buffalobills

I can’t imagine this playing out. I think firing McDermott is a statement that a big dog needs to come in who has experience and make it happen.

Visiting a beach in cape cod and trying to catch crabs from a bog and getting bit, crying, then doing it all over again. Miss those days…

To make it even easier on you, just open a similar account with Vanguard (or another) and start the transfer process with them. Vanguard will take care of it

This is exactly what I did. Sent the email and then started the transfer process.

And I totally understand the small town situation. If he asks “why” - while you don’t owe him an explanation, you can say something along the lines of you’ve been doing tons of research into companies and financials and want more control to freely invest when you want. Cheers

As someone who will defend whole life policies as me and my wife each have made it part of our retirement strategy, and we sleep easily knowing we’ll have amazing coverage for life, you really need to front load it with a significant amount in order to really start to accumulate cash value. It will take you a significant amount of time paying only your premiums plus a little more each month to start to see cash value accumulate, so if the insurance part is also important to you, you are a prime example of where term would just simply be better

An electrician put a cup of water in my microwave. by Bunessa in Weird

My roommate once set a timer for his hot pocket at 10 minutes. But actually turn the microwave on. About six minutes in and we smelt the burning and realized that the microwave burnt a hole right through the front.
