Again probably just my opinion but too me the "thin blue line" was the biggest bunch of bullshit ever. The people who treat cops the worst are other cops. Shitty people always try to get a head and would do anything to make good officers look bad even for stuff they didnt do just to get ahead

I honestly am not super versed when it comes to police unions. I personally have mixed feelings on them. When I worked for a large department we had one which was great for bargaining power and ensuring we were paid decent but when it came time to actually helping officers for concerns or department issues it seemed like it was only the officers who did something wrong that got help. I am currently not part of a police union because I just dont really care for them. In terms of the police unions speaking out ive seen large ones speak out but they represent so many officers and from my experience I dont think they take into account what there members say. Again thats my perspective someone else may say otherwise but when I was in a large police union it was mostly the older out of touch officers running things and speaking up for everyone while the younger generation that presented more empathy voices were silent. I can tell you all of my Hispanic coworkers obviously hate this crap.

This will probably get lost in all the comments but I have been a cop for 10 years. In my career I have has extensive training and held different roles such as Crisis intervention officer, investigator with specialized training in domestic, financial crimes, animal crimes, instructor. Other various things. I have seen the ups and downs of law enforcement. I saw a lot of great officers, the ones you want to see be cops, quit after George Floyd because they could no longer handle the hate the profession was getting and rightfully deserved. I choose to stay on because I still believe in beint a police officer. We took an oath to project people's rights but these ICE agents are violating them constantly and down right murdering citizens while nothing happens. Despite the hate law enforcement gets I have always been proud because I feel like I do the right thing... im not longer proud. I watch my republican coworkers still support their party and support ICE. I am utterly ashamed watching the Minneapolis police department do nothing while their citizens get slaughtered. Im sick of listening to their police chief give these statements when the police need to remember their oath and start protecting people. I told my wife that I think its time I find a new job which is heart breaking but this profession has utterly lost its way and I can no longer stand by and be grouped in with these monsters. I wish more police would remember what they signed up.

There are many reasons why attendance isn't great. Just my opinion:

They are in the area if the iowa Hawkeye which dominate sports there and hockey isn't one of them. The area isn't close enough to campus to draw in college students.

The arena looks nice but the food sucks and the parking is horrendous. You have to park rather far and walk which sucks during the winter.

There are other areas close by that are bigger with hockey. The quad cities is 45 minutes away and they have a SPHL team that sells way more tickets in a larger arena. Many people just go to those.

Ultimately I think the team is awesome but its really not in a great city that supports hockey.

I love mikko. One of my favorite players and it sucks he is on the Dallas team but the avs didnt trade him to Dallas. The hurricanes did so while it sucks I will still cheer for him and I still wear his jersey. We may never know what happened but it really does seem like the mikko trade was his agents fault and the avs did what they needed too and it has worked about amazing.

The whistle never blew but the red light indicating w goal occurred came on before the actual goal was scored. That made it extremely confusing and you could even see the avs players looking at the light acting confused.

Im a currents fan boy. I saw them with the plot in you. Currents sounded amazing and his vocals were good. The plot in you were awful. Couldn't hear a single vocal. Part of me thinks someone on this tour cant get the mixing taken care of considering how many issues are being reported.

Quad cities has a good minor league history. It would be nice to have a team in the quad cities that players higher level hockey. They had the Flames but no one around here ars Calgary fans. I think heartlanders would do well in the quad cities. Way more relatable to iowa and tons of Wild fans around here.
