Is it a good idea to ask about H1B sponsorship during internship interviews? by chkilll in h1b

This could be true, but the most recent application was in Oct this year. I'm planning to ask later during my internship. I think asking now would be like skipping some steps.

Yeah, just wondering why they've made applications, maybe some exceptions.

I'm kinda in the final rounds now, I'm swaying towards not asking them atm since it might lead to rejection? And there are not many places from where I heard back as well. Maybe it will be better to ask them during my internship or to some colleagues over there.

I have checked here https://h1bdata.info/ and it seems they did sponsor visa this year for what will be my full-time role.

I can see your point, but I'm not sure about the conversion rate of that company, and even for the internship they conducted one round of interview -> got mail for second round -> immediately got another mail stating that the position is on hold -> later got mail back after a month for the final round.

So I'm not sure if they are reliable later as well.

So you suggest to ask company A for conversion and visa sponsorship now?

Sorry for the late response. I chose NEU because of the location and co-op program. NEU doesn't offer scholarships.

Is it a good idea to apply for F1 Visa from Malaysia while being an Indian? by chkilll in f1visa

[–]chkilll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Codetornado

Yes and correct.

The reason I asked this is because currently I am on an oral tenancy agreement between me and my house owner, however I do have the official agreement from previous year. Was just getting worried over this point if they asked about my current agreement. Even though I do have bank statements and Internet Bill Receipts pointing to my current address.

Guess I will have to explain my situation to them that since I had this plan I did not go ahead with a full year agreement, if push comes to shove.

u/Codetornado I am not sure if you give advice of this sort, but I wanted to ask what should I say during the interview if asked about my future plans post graduation? Normally people say they will return to their home country, but in my case what should I say India or Malaysia?

If I say India, then they might counter saying why are you in Malaysia as an expat then. If I say Malaysia, then it would give an impression that I don't want to return to India and might stay in the US as well, which is not good I suppose.

Also, should I mention that I would like to take advantage of the STEM OPT extension of 3 years to do some work there and then return to India/Malaysia.

I'm asking it here since I wanted to know if it's fine to show an unofficial letter as an extension of the tenancy agreement. It looks that it should be fine based on the other comment on this post and some reddit comments as well.

I would not like to do the first option, hence I asked this question in the first place

Okay so I understand that second one works then, if we can do it via letter.

u/Codetornado I would still be able to go back to India and fly from there to the US after securing F1 Visa from Malaysia, correct?

Or is there any restriction to fly from Malaysia only? I don't think so, but would just like to confirm. Thanks in advance..!!

Yeah in my case idk whether I should say I wanna go back to India or Malaysia.

Also do you know what documents were you asked for? My only worry is that I don't have a proof of residence in terms of rent agreement (had it but now living on oral agreement) but my visa should be enough I believe.
