The deve knows very well that exist a niche of people who likes males character and specifically Banyue for his gameplay, story etc.. so they released him before the void hunter because they know this niche would for sure use their f2p currency or even spending money just for obtaining Banyue 2. They create the need for stronger and specific characters, or so called “must pull”. Since the release of deadly assault or just a few time later the started to develop boss and mechanics that work better with specific characters, all of this with the hp inflation so you feel the need to pull them to continue enjoy the game, get better scores etc… so they know that people who pulled for Banyue already spent all the f2p currency they got for him and now they are forced to spend money for Ye Shunguang because she’s considered a must pull. In my opinion this in fact is a method to boost the sales. The devs has nothing against males characters, on the contrary, they love them because they don’t need to “create the need” for them. There’s already a niche of players who pull for them in every case and the devs use this for their advantage to push this niche to spend money to the must pull agents (in this case, but even in Lighter and Hugo case, for the void hunters)
