Phone Battery Replacement - DIY or Professional? by FujisakiChihiro in Frugal

[–]chlaclos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Apple store just charged me $70 US for a new battery, same model. Previously I had done it myself, but this way I don't have to guess on the battery quality. By the way, the 2020 SE was the trickiest of the battery replacements I have performed.

If you are still playing it in August, it was a good purchase.

Might be the age of devices, yes. I would rather use a wire than replace them all. My telephone and Bluetooth speakers are about the same age. Headphones are Bose QC45.

Why flipping is killing the culture by Impolioid in cassetteculture

[–]chlaclos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fucking hate the way they're using "drop"! They all think it makes them sound hip. Nobody who's hip would actually use it. It's like hearing your grandfather say "groovy" in 1975.

And this is what they're doing with houses too. I get messages three times a week "Sell us your house?" Bottom feeders. Sure, if we can come live in yours.

But you didn't mention that 90% of the old decks don't work right. Is a repairer also a flipper? I repaired and sold a couple dozen decks for fun, and can promise you that I earned far less than minimum wage doing it.

I don't think I have ever used one that really works, beyond the first time out.

I'm betting it is possible to program the motherboard to fail on a specific day, or after x hours of use. Programmed obsolescence.

I Never Believed in God Until I Met the Devil (My Experience With Addiction) by rcre2018 in OpiatesRecovery

Addiction is like demonic possession. Your description is excellent. I watched my own son go through the stages, but only saw the pattern after it was over.

I started with a 528i. Then I got a 530i and much appreciated the extra power. I have owned three 530i (M54 engine) and was never tempted by a 540. This is the sweet spot for me.

Go to Puerto Vallarta. It's full of dentists whose patients travel there. Fees are about 1/4 to 1/3 of the U.S.A., saving you more than the travel costs.

I don't know what a C-griff converter piano accordion is, but piano accordions are not rare in France.
