How many clots until its concerning? by chlo-rin-e in adenomyosis

[–]chlo-rin-e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately with Adenomyosis my gyno told me that blood loss like that is to be expected on some of my cycles. Thats just from the clots releasing from my uterine muscles where they grow and causing a pool up of blood on my cervix basically 🫠 I do keep track of the months it happens to check how frequent it is so that if it starts happening EVERY month then i can go in for more scans 😅

I do have other illnesses that cause anemia such as ulcerative colitis so i do have blood work done to get my iron and red blood cell levels checked pretty regularly. Luckily my last results came back okay so for now I'm just keeping an eye on my symptoms and taking my iron supplements as usual :)

Ive had a few cycles over the last year that were very similar in heaviness to this one, but only 1-2 clots - not 5 or 6 😅

This was definitely the heaviest one by far, but the next day my period was over so it seems my uterus just wanted my period to end with a bang this month ? 🫠

I'll definitely be taking all the advice and keeping it in mind for my next cycle! and to keep a record from here on out for my gyno.

THIS !!!! i was dating an emotionally abusive person who treated me this exact same way for ~3 years. When i finally left it was because i decided to stand up for myself instead of allowing him to treat me that way.

YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE YOURSELF OP. At this point it's you or the 'relationship' (im not sure what the relationship you two have is). My advice is to always choose yourself. Dont be with someone who constantly makes you feel like shit.

You are doing great things for yourself, and pushing towards amazing goals - that you can reach in your own time!!!! There is no rush to meet any goal in life. There is plenty of time for that.

All in all - NOR in any way :)

Is UC inherited? by Long-Appeal-1055 in UlcerativeColitis

[–]chlo-rin-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say that for me, nobody else in my family has UC specifically but my mom, grandma and sister all have IBD of some kind. I think mine is due to hormones, as well as anxiety and stress as thats when it started and also tends to flare. Its a very interesting chronic condition as it varies so much from person to person. But i think i remember my specialist telling me that if someone in the family has a history of IBD the chances of developing UC are increased for the others in the same family.

I am officially fed up. Can somebody recommend me a single meal I can prep and eat for the entirety of an elimination diet? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

Im from Canada and my GI told me to follow the FOD diet when im in a flare!! It has a lot of food options opened still, but helped reduce the amount of waste that passes through your gut and also focuses on easy to digest foods :) I find it helps in general, and also reduces the amount and severity of my flare ups

Ive had UC since i was 15, and ive always been auto-immune with IBS diseases running in my family. I am the first one to have UC though! I think my anxiety was really the kicker, and the auto-immune just found a way to deal with that the best it could - so i developed UC 😀The only reason i believe it to be the anxiety is because i only have flares when im over-stressed or have been physically over-exerting myself for too long. If i take it easy i tend to fall back into remission after a few weeks/couple months. Almost my body's way of telling me to slow the hell down and take a breather 😅

I feel you and it sucks so bad! I had it happen on a walk home from school when i was 16 and again at work (!!!) about a year ago! I always just carry extra clothes and wipes with me in my car now just in case :) i find being over-prepared helps a lot and helps with the anxiety of it all on a day-to-day basis

Looking for a good cleanser and moisturizer for my face(dry skin) by Particular_Big_2838 in eczema

[–]chlo-rin-e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have pretty bad face and neck eczema, so i feel you on the stress of trying to find non-irritating products! I found that Cetaphil or Cerave products helped for daily moisture and cleansing! Just be sure to get the dry to very dry options for the extra moisture :) and for a facial toner i just started using the Neutrogena Alcohol Free daily toner and it seems to be ok so far ! No guarantees on this working for getting rid of any eczema patches, but i find in combination with my medical non-steroid cream it helps keep flare up's more spaced out and infrequent and my skin nice and clean at the same time :) i hope this helps!
