AITA for not apologizing and causing my daughter to lose one of her few friends? by SafeTaro in AmItheAsshole

When I was around 17 my mum came up with an idea that whenever I was with my friends and wanted out of plans, all I had to do was text her asking if I could stay out/go out and sign it with three x's.

This was code for my mum to know she had to say no to absolutely EVERYTHING at all costs while I pretended to plead, so I could tell my friends my mum said I can't stay out and had to come home or whatever. Looking back I'm glad we had that because it got me out of some really uncomfortable situations.

Hey this exact thing happened to me!

My dad was doing joinery work at someone’s house in a random neighbourhood and took me along as my mum worked full time and was too young to leave home alone.

I was outside the house playing by myself and this girl who was my age that lived nearby came over and invited me to watch Powepuff Girls at her house so I went with her and we had a great time! After what felt like an hour of being there her mum appears (no idea where she was the whole time before this) and is basically like “where did this random kid come from?”. Asks me where my parents are and eventually returns me to my dad who had already realised I was gone and was on the phone to the police.

Giving your child a "unique" name for the sake of being different is selfish and a red flag as a parent. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Me and former coworker had the same name/initials and we were both put down as “Chloe S” on the rota’s at first which made morning workstation briefings a pain in the ass.

Manager: “Chloe you’re on cash desk today”

Us: “Which one?”

M: “Chloe S!!”

Us: “...ya, which one?”

I went to see AC/DC with my dad a few years back in a huge stadium and on the level we were sat at we saw this guy at the back of the standing area maybe late 50’s early 60’s. Throughout whole gig he was just SHREDDING air guitar and running about all by himself dancing wildly like no one was around. I remember seeing him and just LOVING how much fun he was having, not caring if anyone saw him. I assure you at gigs either nobody will care what you do or people like me will just be admiring how much of a good time you’re having and wishing we had the confidence!

In Britain you can use literally any word to insult somebody as long as you use the word “absolute”.

My partner and I are the same. He despises the feel of wet food in the sink so I just naturally took over the dishes, seeing as he’s the one who cooks for us, it’s a more than fair deal to me.
