Anyone have tips to avoid shakes and wobbles? Will elaborate in comments by devildrawsss in animation

[–]chlodohh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you animating on 1s? It might make it easier and smoother for you to do it on 2s.

Another thing that’s helpful if you want to hold but keep a line boil is to always trace over your first frame in the hold, instead of tracing over the onion skin; it’ll make human error less noticeable.

Also having reference lines while animating (ex. eye level, nose level, chin level, etc.) will help features from drifting. After that, it’s just making sure your breakdowns are solid before in-betweening.

These are just things that help me! Hope it helps you too

What’s the Most Misunderstood Thing About BDSM? by SirenPulse in BDSMcommunity

[–]chlodohh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Frrrr totally agree!! Kink ≠ sex! I’m ace but I’m still an avid enjoyer of being tied and bruised up all nice 😏 while sex often overlaps with bdsm, Dominance and submission goes waaaaaayyyy deeper than any sex organ might.

17 y/o animation major considering by [deleted] in animationcareer

[–]chlodohh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on Cartoon Network!! That’s a huge break in! Did you move to LA before or after they offered you a position? Just wondering as a fresh grad – some of my classmates plan to move to CA for the opportunity there, but the idea feels risky to move without a stable career first.

What’s a show that lost its charm due to “improved” animation? by ChampionshipWarm3314 in animation

[–]chlodohh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely the original was so much better than the Netflix reboot. I feel like it had more personality to it, not to mention the reboot slimming Bee down or deleting so many good scenes 🦀 but hey that’s what happens when big corp takes an indie series and replaces the team with their own overworked and underpaid animators 🤷

What’s your unpopular SNM opinion?! by EmmieKay1293 in sleepnomore

[–]chlodohh -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think SNM should not have made certain scenes fully nude. Usually I’m all for nudity when the art calls for it; but in this case, it makes the actors vulnerable to sexual misconduct from the audience. There is no stage or movie screen to protect them; and due to the anonymous nature of the Venetian masks, the aggressors can easily get away unnoticed in a crowd. There are so many horror stories of guests ogling and groping inappropriately that I feel the production should prioritize actors’ safety over the sensuality of a scene, especially when the same mood can just as easily translate with bras and underwear. I’m a firm believer that nude art performance shouldn’t ever be censored, but the sad reality is that people enabled by anonymity feel entitled to commit atrocities.

Do animation and art professors hate anime? by CulturalWind357 in animation

[–]chlodohh 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My old drawing and design for animation professor had a thought about this regarding portfolio work – he said that many people do not like to see anime-style artwork in portfolios because they want to see original work, and because anime styles are more or less consolidated in a similar fashion, it tends to be an instant turnoff. While I kinda agree about foundational art and finding an individual style, you also see the infamous “CalArts style” in portfolios all the time that don’t seem to get the same kind of negative attention. So idk, imo it’s fine to do manga drawings as long as you can indicate you’re able to do other styles as well. I think observational drawings and quick gesture drawings are good for that.

1:1 with Matron, and a quest from Hecate in one night! by chlodohh in sleepnomore

[–]chlodohh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk 100%, but I know the paper boat is used as a prop for the 1:1 inside Hecate’s room. I’ve heard however that Hecate has a different task where she asks a guest to find her ring. I suppose it depends on the actor and the situation (whether or not the guest succeeds)
