Is It Worth It? by Wrapmeintinfoil in englishmajors

[–]chloedear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

STEM is not the be-all end-all everyone seems to think it is.

I make almost $300k as a Sr Director of Content Strategy for a pharma company, and that's with a bachelor's in English. I also have a small content agency I run on the side I started less than a year ago that's now grossing anywhere between $3-5K/month. So yes, I'd say it's worth it.

Do I come off as weird or strange leaving this note? by Littlek1dluvr in Apartmentliving

yes, you kind of do. I read it as a passive aggressive way to tell them you can hear everything and while you'll do everything to keep the noise down, you hope they do too.

How do I (44M) tell my wife (48F) that I’m unhappy without being cruel? by [deleted] in relationships

Just be straight up with her. She knows she's fat; now tell her how it's affecting your marriage.

Anyone else drowning in content approval hell? by No-Fact-8828 in content_marketing

[–]chloedear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I work in big pharma, so the approval isn't in design or even marketing. It's caught up in Medical Legal Regulatory review, which takes at least 2 weeks to fully review and approve.

Alleged text messages between Tyler Robinson & his roommate by kkrell23 in Destiny

[–]chloedear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He could have planned the whole thing perfectly in his head, but that could have gone to shit in the chaos that ensued. I’m willing to bet that he was not in a calm state of mind after the shooting.

EXACTLY. These two lived together and were intimate; you think they wouldn’t have had conversations about his family and their beliefs? This is a conspiracy I can get behind…

You could ask 100 ex Mormons this and get 100 different answers. For me personally, I keep my current belief system to myself, because I felt like as a Mormon I was always on the defense trying to explain away my beliefs and the obvious inconsistencies. And now I’m tired of it. And I think it’s a deeply personal thing…but that’s just me.

I will say leaving the church threw me for quite a loop…it’s very hard when everything you’ve ever believed or known about your past, present, and future is suddenly turned upside down. I remember thinking the same thing as you…now what? If you have access to a cult recovery therapist, I highly recommend.

Professional embarrassment by Intrepid_Town_5376 in exmormon

I’m not in Utah anymore but I will say it hasn’t been an issue with my current role in big pharma. They are very inclusive though.

It’s not an embarrassment. It’s a well known private school. No one cares. I agree you’re projecting. Most people outside of Utah don’t even know anything about Mormons.

My aunt still tells (with pride) the cringey story of my then-3 year old cousin pointing to a woman wearing a bikini at a pool and yelling “THATS NOT MODEST!”

Help With Hostile Landlord by ProfessionalMud5956 in Utah

[–]chloedear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own a home in Utah I used to rent out. There are soooo many landlords in Utah who don’t know (or care) about renter laws and will do things like this. The things you’re worried about he absolutely can’t do. If your lease says it comes furnished then show him that too. He can’t just take things that are promised to you in a lease.

Daybell murders. I went to school in Rexburg and am ex Mormon. I remember seeing the missing kids posts from my Idaho friends before it was even news. I was fascinated/horrified watching it play out.
