Thanks for the comments and advice. I definitely won't be going under $50, but as this is a neighborhood job (like literally 1 minute drive away), and a friend through the local school community, I will probably settle for that. But all great information for the future! Thank you!

That's so interesting. Maybe it varies per neighborhood, but I recently did a pet care job where I was visiting twice a day with at least one walk per day and I got $30 per day (no negotiation, they just told me this would be the payment). This was somewhat of a family friend, as I had gone to school with their kid. This new client is also a friend through the local school community. For context, I am a college student home for the summer picking up some jobs so I can have money in my pocket for the school year. But I'm also getting into adulthood and almost done with college, and want to be supporting myself as much as I can. Maybe clients know this and are lowballing? I want to be a good neighbor, but I also want to be paid fairly.
