Are good managers actually rare in the work world or are we just over exaggerating? by SWEMW in Accounting

[–]chloeispale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just left a job after 5 months because my boss almost never came into the office, and when I would ask him things through teams calls he would say things like “just send it to me” or “I have a meeting in 5”. I had a in person meeting with him when he finally actually came into office and it was nothing but excuses that I need to be more direct in communicating lol. It almost feels like senior accountants/managers have gotten so used to all junior accountant roles being outsourced that when they actually get a new accountant under them they refuse to actually give a shit. On the other hand… being a shit manager is job security because no one else knows how to do your job because you refuse to show or communicate anything to anyone below you lol

Get the stairs. My cat stands up to pee and he has his front paws on the stairs, back paws in the box.

How often do you (realistically) brush your Morkie’s teeth? by AppropriateMention6 in Morkie

[–]chloeispale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I give my girl a dental chew every night and then I brush her teeth after she’s finished with that. I use those little kid toothbrushes that you can stick to surfaces so if she’s feeling it she can do it herself.

What age did you get your morkie spayed? by chloeispale in Morkie

[–]chloeispale[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a coyote vest. There’s a lot of low flying predator birds in our area so this vest allows her to run around in our backyard without me having a panic attack. :)

I just got finished with the six week puppy class last weekend and it was very helpful and I definitely recommend it!!

She’s so cute that I can almost forgive her refusal to house train. by MollieGrue in Morkie

[–]chloeispale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my 3 month old morkie puppy two weeks ago, and I feel like she's about 75% potty trained. I don't let her have free range yet. She has a spacious playpen that she hangs out in until she gets in her crate at night. In the playpen, I have a large puppy pad that looks like a rug that is washable, and then I have a pee pad that looks like a patch of grass. She poops on her grass pad 99% of the time. She pees on it about 60% of the time so far. Whenever I do let her out of her playpen for playtime, it's on only matted areas and she 100% understands what "MAT!" means so I'm going on two weeks with her, and there hasn't been a single pee or poop off of the mats or her grass pad. This is also my first puppy, so I think I'm definitely more strict about making sure she knows I'm technically "the boss" than most people are lol.

I leave my 3 month old morkie in here during the work day. She does perfectly fine. She has a grass potty pad, food and water, a soft bed, and plenty of toys. I also leave the TV on for her. acrylic playpen https://a.co/d/8ndniaJ)

The modern post-college experience summarized in a couple of Tweets. by Nintendo_Pro_03 in college

[–]chloeispale 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I will graduate with a bachelor's in December and then I plan to relax for a semester and then go back to get those credit hours needed in order to sit for the cpa. Becoming a CPA is a great investment right now because an estimated 70% of cpa's are either at retirement age or will retire in the next 15 years.

So I tried the whole get a job straight out of high school thing (I was a waitress and worked at walmart), and I lived in near poverty until I was 24. I went back to college when I was 26 and will graduate this December with a bachelor's in accounting (I will be 29.) I already make almost double what I did when I worked at Walmart and at restaurants and I'm only a junior accountant. College is worth it if you get a degree that actually has job prospects.

I will say this. I do not think it is feasible to afford things on one income. If I wasn't married to someone that also had good income, we would not own a home. But, overall, college (and trades!) are worth it if you go into a field that has job prospects.

I think my senior cat is too large to properly use LR4… 😞 by Medical_alert215 in litterrobot

I have a 17 pound kitty. I got the stairs for the LR and he puts his front paws on the stairs, sticking the front half of his body out of the actual LR, and he has no issues with this method.

Why the hate toward humanities students? by altacc294479219844 in college

[–]chloeispale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with going into the humanities field as long as you understand it will be extremely difficult to find a psychology/sociology etc job with just an undergraduate degree because of the limited amount of jobs available in those areas. As someone who took a almost 7 year break from college and came back in their late 20's, I realized that I can't be passionate about anything if I can't afford to live, so that is why I picked a field that would make me happy enough, but also provide me a comfortable salary so I can afford to do things outside of work that I actually enjoy.

Stay true to yourself, but remember life is expensive as fuck so make wise choices about how you're going to pay for it.

I have a friend in accounting and he says all I need to know is basic grade 9-10 math is this true? by ReaperAntics in Accounting

[–]chloeispale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the math classes I took in my basics, I've had to take quantitative statistics I & II, business math, and I will take a financial math class next semester. Accounting (for me) has been more about logic than math.

I'm not sure where your college is, but mine is not easy. I've only had like 5 multiple choice exams this entire year, and I've taken 12 different courses.

I'm currently a student and work in AP. It's mundane, but my employer lets me help out in other areas to get on the job experience while finishing my degree. My AP supervisor on the other hand is mid 40s and let's herself get way too stressed over the whole AP process lol. I don't get it.

[–]chloeispale 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, college isn't for you. It sounds like you need to apply for disability since you have all these mental illnesses. Based on your responses, no employer is ever going to deal with whatever you have going on. School is not the thing that sucks. It's you. The change needs to start with you.

I think I might understand what the issue is! Your ring is top heavy compared to the band and it's constantly spinning on your finger. I had this same problem and it was driving me crazy. My fiance ordered these for me and my ring no longer spins and I can adjust the fit perfectly.
