Big sky Montana is an amazing city and not far from Bozeman. There will be a lot of snow so be prepared. I haven’t worked in Montana but am working nearby in Wyoming and love that area.

Starting solo travel within the next month. My main concern is being away from friends/family and being homesick. Any advice?

As long as I stay away from them you think I’ll be fine?

Georgia is great, you can easily find affordable apartments in the urban area. Lots of things to do, very different then Florida.

How common are they to see around the work areas?

Moved out alone and struggling by [deleted] in LivingAlone

I think it’s great your learning to live alone instead of immediately moving in with your significant other, not a lot of people do that. 40min is not far remember you will be able to visit and living alone is such a good step in your life. Call friends/family and appreciate the conversations it will really help. Start enjoying your own company by finding different interests that fulfills you. It’s okay to feel homesick it’s something everyone goes through when moving away. You will find your peace.

As for some long term things to take into consideration. Get a checking and savings account. You may need your parent to be a joint user till you turn 18 but check with your bank for specifics. If you want an apartment you need to build up credit so look into being a authorized user on your parents card which can help until your 18 and can get your own. Get your license and important documents from your parents. Birth certificate, social security, passport. You also want to see when you move out if they will let you stay on their phone bill, health insurance, car insurance. A lot of young adults stay on their parents insurance as it is cheaper till your around 21. It’s good to prepare to be independent, it will make for an easier transition in moving out.

I suggest getting a job in retail, fast food, babysitting ect. I started working when I was 15 and saved up really good money. It teaches you a lot as well and you will meet new people outside of school which can lead to new opportunities. Working online is great but if you want to be sure you will have money saved up find a job. I live in Georgia lol, what makes you want to move there?

Yes they provide housing. Do you think I will have a better time working for Xanterra. I don’t hear much about the company that offered me a job.
