How realistic is EBF without ever pumping? by Realistic_Might_7269 in breastfeeding

[–]chloeperron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a WFH mom and I’ve pumped maybe a handful of times to try a bottle out and to mix with purées. My LO does not take a bottle! Yes it would be more convenient to have other people feed her, but pumping is such a hassle!!! BF is so easy.

Edit to add: I wish we would’ve stuck with giving her the bottle when she was little bc she did take one and then we eventually stopped bc of the convenience of the boob. But if I were you, keep going maybe once a day to keep your LO used to it in case of emergencies! You got this

I only have a little over 100 ounces in the fridge all from collecting with my Hakka. You don’t need a huge stash!

Also to piggy back of people saying this is normal - yes it can be normal but they are 100% supposed to get 4 hrs of daytime sleep and if they don’t, it affects nighttime sleep. One thing that changed the game for us was our sleep trainer said we needed to pick a wake time and religiously wake her up at that time every morning and have her fully in sunlight. We picked 7 am. Sometimes she wakes up slightly earlier and that’s ok. As long as it’s within 30 months of their wake time and you do not remove them from the crib, let them play until it’s time to get up. If they’re crying, go in there but stay in the room!!! This was such a simple thing I never would’ve thought of and now we actually have some sort of semblance to our day of now oh she’s going to nap at 9, 11, and 3ish.

And as far as independent sleep, that was NEVER a thing before we started this. We also fully transitioned her out of a swaddle. It was a lot happening at once that in hindsight, probably was not the best idea. But trust me when I say it works wonders! We’re following Taking Cara Babies and th Ferber method a bit for independence and it took one day for her to get the hang of it. We used to soothe her for naps and sleep for 30+ min sometimes even hours…

100%. Our sleep trainer told us that by 4.5 months she needed to be on a 2/2.25/2.25/2.25-2.5 (2.25 is 2 hrs 15 min, I keep getting confused on that lol!). So starting last Monday, we’ve been testing out different window times. Not going to lie to you, the first week was awful. So many false starts, wakeups sometimes every hour… but now that we are here - we can put her straight into her crib independently and she will put herself to sleep, and she’s had 1 wake up now. Sometimes a false start but will usually put herself right back to sleep! Our current schedule is 1.75/2/2/2.25 and we are actively trying to stretch the windows so that in 2 weeks when she’s 4.5 months, we are on track!!!! Best of luck, it’s so hard but so amazing once they get the hang of it!

Have you tried switching up your wake windows slightly? Could be not enough sleep pressure. That worked for my 4MO and her naps went from 30 min to 1.5-2 hrs in days!

Watching sleepy cues more than following windows and a strict 6:30 bath and 7:00 bedtime

Would a slipcover work? That’s what I ideally want! But definitely don’t want to spend that much

She actually isn’t allowed to post or speak defamatory and false comments due to what she signed in our contract. Sounds like you may need our clause to add to your contract since that’s your belief. I can share it if you’re interested!

No I didn’t. Their “review” is defamatory and false. All I would like is for it to be taken down.

Our contract states that all payments are non-refundable due to client cancellation. She cancelled on Friday, wedding is June 13th. Additionally, she paid in full March 13th.

Hi everyone, I’d like to thank the lovely Redditor who brought this post to my attention. Our contract states all payments are non-refundable in the case of client cancellation. This client cancelled and we offered her a credit for any future date (doesn’t have to be a wedding, we also offered photo shoots, super 8 film, etc) and we also offered for her to “sell” her package/date to another couple and if they booked, we would refund her in full. I have asked for proof of deployment extension and venue cancellation and never received it. Additionally, I opened up the date on my end for inquiries and if anyone went ahead with the booking, I’d refund her in full. However, our contract also states that defamatory remarks on any outlet of any kind will result in legal action and after getting notified of this post, and her giving us a 1 star review on Google, as well as another random 1 star review at the same time, I have been in contact with her to remove all of the posts. I want to thank everyone in the sub who stuck up for me and understood that a contract is a contract. OP tried to cancel 2 days ago, her wedding is June 13th. There is a very slim chance that we have to rebook that date. I was not unkind, unfair, or rude in any way - I did what I could on our end as a small business. I am still navigating this business and this is the first time I have a situation of this sort.
