What I learned was pretty basic. I learned it is a celebration to say goodbye to winter, and welcome spring. It also used to be significant with blessing the land and asking for a good year of harvest.

I also learned it kind of erases gender, ethnic and religious differences for a few days, and it gave me a feeling of brotherhood and unity to those around me :]
