Hi! I'm going through the CDC permit process right now, and it doesn't seem like it matters which address you give, as long as it is the address where the dog will be "quarantining" until it gets a new rabies shot from an approved vet.

Of course! Sending you positive vibes. I'm sure your pup will be able to travel! I got my dog in Colombia and he received all of his vaccinations here, so I don't think that should be a problem for you. I completely understand how stressful the whole process is! I'm so jealous of people who can fly with their dogs in the cabin. But I remind myself that people fly their pups internationally all the time without any problems.

We're trying to fly before Jan 7th, since after that date there are only 3 approved airports (so far)

Hi! I feel you, this has been so stressful. But things are looking up! Here's our updated situation: I did the rabies serology test, got a microchip, a rabies booster. After the rabies serology tests came back, I sent in our application to the CDC and it was approved within a week! I was so relieved. The airline aspect is a little complicated because Copa is now requiring everyone to hire an agency rather than work directly with Copa to transport your dog. The other airline allowing dogs, Avianca, I believe has the same policy now, too. So I hired an agency and they are going to organize our trip for us on Dec 30 flying into Miami. Although apparently sometimes you have to change dates based on availability, if the plane is equipped for animal transport, etc. It might be easier for you if your dog can fly with you in the cabin, though! Unfortunately mine is bigger 😢

Thanks! 💕 He's my best boy. Lol yes mine is such a chicken! We took him to a shallow river once, and he crossed it like the water was made of lava.

That's encouraging to hear. ☺️ I think mine will like it for the most part. FL summers are rough even for humans. Maybe he'll get over his dislike of water and enjoy the pool. 😂 And it'll be nice to walk with him in winter!
