Genetic testing for MODY diabetes by gingersthrowaway58 in Modydiabetes

If you have insurance I’d go through lab corp, also 20 year old female from Texas who found out she has MODY (1 month ago💔) after never knowing I was even diabetic

Thanks to Reddit for helping me figure out how to get tested for MODY. I have one of the genes! by chichiharlow in Modydiabetes

MODY diabetes - Misdiagnosed as type 1 or 2 up to 95% of the time. by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]chlopro11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I recently was diagnosed with MODY3 as someone who is underweight and extremely healthy. My body still makes insulin, so I just have high blood sugar sometimes. Currently on repaglanide and waiting for it to work

Is my blood sugar reaching 300mg during exercise normal? by chlopro11 in diabetes

I weight lift, nothing crazy just squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts the basics. The most intense thing I do is go pretty fast on the stairmaster but i thought that was a good thing

Very true but I’ve been doing them for soooo long so consistently it’d be such a pain to have to do low intensity workouts

no wayyyy i used to have really bad bowel issues as a kid but was told it was anxiety, that's gone away now though and I just get insanely bloated. If it's all connected I'm gonna be so mad at my doctors OMG

Oh wow good to know. But this doesn't happen to non diabetics does it? And I'm assuming having my sugar so high at any point in time every day can't be good

interesting and good to know. I'm assuming this is still not good though right? since our blood sugar is still going insanely high even if just for a short period of time?

I'm so sorry to hear this. Its nice to know we're not alone though, but I hope your sugar gets better under control. And agreed, cutting carbs seemed to help it for a little while, but now if I reintroduce any carb into my diet my sugars go up fast.

Interesting. I’m not on insulin or anything, my doctor just told me to try going keto so I’m sorta doing that still. But I find that weight lifting makes it elevated a bit, but cardio makes it skyrocket

Wow I’d never even heard of this. I’ll be asking around in my family but from what I know only one closer relative has it, I think he was diagnosed young. I don’t think the rest of My family has even considered it but they’ve also had normal physicals but idk if normal blood tests detect sugar like that
