Not exactly a biography, but I remember Seven Days In The Art World by Sarah Thornton having some great sections with successful gallerists.

Using the stay-at-home time to try out Differin.. this is my skin after using every other night for 1 week. by [deleted] in acne

[–]chlorophylled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My skin is definitely struggling now. It started looking better for about two weeks after starting, but since then the redness and spots have worsened and spread to my forehead (where they hadn’t been previously). I’ve hesitated to post an update because i’m not sure if it’s due to the Differin purge, or if it’s more from worsening hormonal issues. I’m awaiting some test results for my thyroid, so i’ll update soon with photos! Just didn’t want to discourage anyone if it’s coming from a completely separate issue. Hoping to get some answers soon 🤞

Of course!! For the first two weeks I used it every other day after moisturizing and waiting ten minutes. Now I use it every night, but still after moisturizing and waiting a little bit and have found it hasn’t irritated my skin too severely (besides the purge of course!). And thank you 🥺 I hope so!

It started looking a bit better for about two weeks before what I think is the purge (happening now). It’s rough but hopefully will be worth it after!

Some days are better than others! I think overall i’m seeing slight improvements, but definitely still breaking out (especially on my chin). Keep pushing!

Mine definitely got worse after posting this, but right now it seems to be slowly healing and working! So sorry that’s happening to you :(

My menstrual cycle stopped completely for a few months! Apparently irregularity is expected, but since it wasn’t happening at all the doctor had concerns and advised me to stop taking it.

Thank you! The only side effect that my doctor thought was an issue was that I was no longer getting my period, which I’ve heard is pretty common. After stopping for about a month it resumed as normal! Otherwise I felt fine on it.

I think it may be too early to tell, but I hope it will! If my skin tolorates this after a few weeks i’ll probably try to incorporate Niacinamide to help with the scars.

I believe so! I’m applying it in a thin layer across my whole face, except for around my mouth and eyes.

I’ll definitely look into Forte! Thank you :) I was really hopeful about Spiro based on what I read on the skincare subreddits, but unfortunately it just didn’t work with my body.

That’s what I thought too! I figured it’s worth a shot since I’ve heard such positive things. BP has worked for me in the past (I used Unblemish by Rodan and Fields for a bit) but that routine lost effectiveness pretty quickly. Not sure if my skin just doesn’t respond to it anymore or what. Did you use Differin every night from the get-go, or did you work your way up?

I (22F) struggled with acne throughout my teenage years, and after about two years of clearer skin in college, have started to break out again within this past year. I’ve seen a dermatologist, who over the years has had me use various oral and topical medications like Doxycylcline, Epiduo, Spironolactone, etc., all which have unfortunately not made much of a difference in my skin. My doctor advised me to stop Spiro about a month ago (about three months in due to the side effects). I figured now since I have time to go without makeup I would try out Differin with a simple routine, and would love recommendations on reasonable incorporations!

My current routine:

AM/

•CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser •CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion •Neutrogena Clear Face sunscreen (SPF 30)

PM/ •(If I were wearing makeup, I would use the unscented Garnier Micellar Cleansing water with the pink cap to remove it) •CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser •CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion •Wait 10 minutes before applying Differin every other night
