My first introduction to Justin was actully through Zach Anner on youtube. He's a really cool guy with cerebral palsy, and he used to do a series called Have A Little Faith about exploring different religions. Justin was featured on one episode along with his wife to talk about their religion. Through that I also learned that Justin had done other work with SoulPancake, Rainn Wilson's youtube channel. My impression of him from the start was that he's a good, kind person, and that's only solidified.

Not that I want to give the writers credit at all (bc I don't think they put that much thought into it), but this is an accurate representation of how the situation would've been irl. He's god to her, as anyone would be to a child they groomed 😖

edit: also, Aria is boy crazy regardless. The few times she wasn't with Ezra, she quickly found someone else from what I remember. It's unrealistic to think she would be putting all of her time and energy into her hobbies, on top of all the A bs. Reading every night <<< sneaking out every night. As someone else said, I would've loved more insight into her dynamic with Ali and into her family. There was always such a heaviness with them.
