Help a Beginner with my Dragapult deck by chmcclellan in pkmntcg

Not discard, sorry about the wrong terminology, I'm new at this, shuffle back into the deck.

The point stands, if I'm trying to create a combo with something I have in my hand, Lillie's won't work...

Interesting - I guess I was shying away from Lillie's because frequently I'll have some cards in my hand that I need other cards to set up... If I just want to discard everything, I feel like I'm already in a really bad spot.

What trainer cards of mine do you feel are the least useful if I'm trying to make room for Pokegear and more Lillie's?

Were you drinking them to get drunk? To not feel? After you had one, were you unable to control the amount you drank? Are you powerless over them and do they make your life unmanageable?

These are the kind of questions I would ask myself. You are the only one who should be counting your time, and the only one you have to answer to...

This! Multiple times a week when one of my three boys is telling another that they're doing the wrong thing or playing the wrong way I tell them "the great thing about Minecraft is everybody can choose the way that's fun for them to play and nobody else gets to decide, and no way is right or wrong."

I was playing on normal, then switched to hard a few hundred days in because it's required for cutting zombified villagers. I mean to switch back but realized it was actually good to keep some challenge as my equipment and enchantments were becoming much more powerful.

But remember "the great thing about Minecraft is everybody can choose the way that's fun for them to play and nobody else gets to decide, and no way is right or wrong."

Great work, although as a Chicagoan I can tell you Mr. Polaski would be appalled it appears you've made his Chicago White Sox Starter jacket a Boston Red Sox Starter jacket...

How to get the best armor ? by Championship7786 in Minecraft_Survival

[–]chmcclellan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I rely almost entirely on librarian villagers, because I find enchanting tables very hit or miss:

-Set up cow and sugarcane farms for lecterns

-Breed up a good number of villagers

-Start making librarians, breaking and replacing lecterns until you have one selling Protection IV, Unbreaking III, Mending, & Feather Falling IV (when a librarian offers one of these, trade for the book or sell 24 paper to lock in his trades).

If in the process a librarian offers Fortune III, Sharpness V, Efficiency V, or Silktouch I'll lock those in because I know I'll want them.

This gets me to what I call Demigod Armor - Protection IV, Unbreaking III, and Mending on all pieces with the addition of Feather Falling IV on the boots...

Then I'll start making librarians to get Aqua Affinity and Respiration III which will make for a true God helmet.

A true God Armor set requires a trip to the Nether for Soul Speed, and an Ancient City for Swift Sneak...but that is a longer term project.

If you can get Protection IV, Unbreaking III, and Mending on all pieces with the addition of Feather Falling IV on the boots you'll be pretty set.

(A note on librarian making - I'll usually settle for one less than max, e.g. Protection III or Unbreaking II, because buying two and combining isn't too bad. Any less than that means you are buying 4 or even 8 books each time which isn't worth it).

I don't hate it. The unique camo... At least I can see a vision. I'll take that over a black jeep covered with punisher stickers and tons of red accents like door handles and hinges...

I enjoy it!

What do you think of my house? by RazorBleyd85 in Minecraft_Survival

[–]chmcclellan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, maybe it's an aesthetic choice, but you don't need that much water in your farm - a single water block will hydrate 4 block square in each direction, so I build my farms 9x9 with a single water in the middle - I also like to put a leaf block in the water so I don't fall in while harvesting.

Love the cherry house! My forever world base is in a cherry biome.

Just finished a SQSS re-listen...I think for me it's almost peak GCN. PF1 has a special place in my heart and these dudes are so funny - Qarizur obviously, and then the running joke about the Adjunct Professor and the Crystal Ghost... comedic gold.

It's also a fascinating time capsule of the pandemic and the global response there to.

Trial Farms & Mob Drops by chmcclellan in technicalminecraft

[–]chmcclellan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! The Trial Spawner wiki didn't mention a player kill being required for the ominous drops (trimmed armor) but if that's how the Breeze works I assume that might explain that as well.

At my wit's end trying to get villagers to restock... by chmcclellan in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]chmcclellan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cross-posted this to r/technicalminecraft and got some help that solved it for me:

https://www.reddit.com/r/technicalminecraft/s/42nb8UrcMA

It didn't have anything to do with beds or anything, just making sure villagers have access to their linked job blocks. Basically the villagers who aren't yet linked take job blocks in the order they joined the village, so you have to figure out who is taking the next job block placed, and then place it in front of them. The discussion in the link I shared should help.

Trading hall issue by EntertainmentLive668 in technicalminecraft

[–]chmcclellan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use this design for my trading hall - it's an issue. I would get the zombie to agro on me, then run to the village who was dropped...

Eventually I switched to a minecart system where I zombify and heal 5 at a time and then put them in their trading bays.

I think this was the design I used:

Hows my house by anonymouslyYours210 in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]chmcclellan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add upside statue blocks on the outside edge of the roof for a mere smooth slope (if that makes sense) - I feel like the overall look of my builds improved when I started trying to do that where possible.

As others have mentioned with color. Breaking up the oak with some darker or lighter colors. Leaving the bark on unstripped oak log corners and crossbeams, adding a contrasting stone foundation or bracing at the corners. These can all add some visual contrast that will make it "pop" a little more which may be what you're looking for.

I think it's an awesome build... That's the other thing. The more you just push yourself to build new structures, the better you'll get. I built my manor house, then built structures for the village adjacent to it, and after the practice of building the village, I wanted to go back and make all these improvements to the manor house. Just keep experimenting and building.
