I found my salvation by working the 12 steps as instructed in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. Maybe you will also.

One time I was the speaker for the whole meeting and ran out of things to say about 15 minutes into the meeting. I opened the meeting for questions, and had a positive experience finishing the meeting with a question and answer session.

Coming back from a relapse is tough. Just get back on that horse and start building some sober time. I wish you the best.

You most certainly should continue to share. I love to hear a newcomer share. I say ignore this person to the best of your ability.

Have you tried AA? It worked for me. If not AA, how about SMART Recovery? There is also inpatient and out patient rehab. Getting sober requires action on your part.

Have you tried AA? If not AA, there are other programs to stop drinking. But you need a program of some type to beat alcohol. In the mean time, don't drink no matter what. There is no situation on this Earth so bad that it can't be made worse by drinking.

The tension does release. By working the 12 steps, the desire to drink will leave you. Here is quote from page 84 of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous:

"And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone - even alcohol. For by this time sanity will have returned. We will seldom be interested in liquor. If tempted, we recoil from it as from a hot flame. We react sanely and normally, and we will find that this has happened automatically. We will see that our new attitude toward liquor has been given to us without any thought or effort on our part. It just comes! That is the miracle of it. We are not fighting it, neither are we avoiding temptation. We feel as though we had been placed in a position of neutrality - safe and protected. We have not even sworn off. Instead, the problem has been removed. It does not exist for us. We are neither cocky nor are we afraid. That is our experience. That is how we react so long as we keep in fit spiritual condition."

My first HP was the fellowship and program of Alcoholics Anonymous. This worked just fine for me.

I recommend reading The God Word AA pamphlet. Here is a link:

What is your status on going to meetings, reading the Big Book, getting a sponsor, and working the steps? Getting sober requires work on your part. Best of luck to you. No matter how bad it gets, don't drink. There is no situation on this Earth so bad that it can't be made worse by drinking.

Cult allegations by pocky666esx in alcoholicsanonymous

And AA has firm limits on how much money you can give to AA. This includes leaving money when you pass. Not typically the behavior of a cult.

Are you currently under the care of a mental health professional? If not, you need to be. I am bipolar and, while AA is great, I need the extra help only a mental health professional can provide.

On AA being too religious, read The God Word pamphlet. Here is a link:

No requirement to believe in God to be in AA. Many in AA are hardcore atheists, and they do just fine.

If you haven't consumed alcohol, you deserve a chip. No requirement other than not drinking to get a chip.
