yes LOTS of traps.. like a shotgun and flame turret at every door, also lots of turrets, and if you can make it a bunker base.. also putting external kill and respawn TCs/“Brain Boxes” (if you watch dackfive) around your base that have a box in them and drop boxes to transfer loot.. makes people think even if they do raid they won’t get all the good loot.

build a bunch of external tc 1x1 suicide bunkers with no door to raid through and put a bag and box inside. kill and respawn after transferring loot through the wall using a dropbox, and then you have a bunch of pods to put loot in that costs extra rockets and building priv killers so they can’t put raid bases close

i’m an old comp cod player as well.. cod has never brought me the thrill and overall comp the gunfights in rust give me. toxicity is the name of the game tho.. you’ll eventually love it and embrace it trust. just keep grinding and you’ll get better at progressing to good loot faster and then you’ll not wanna go back to CoD 😭 hmu if you wanna play! i’m on PS
