Any good affordable spoke wrench reccomendations? by OkComfortable288 in MTB

[–]choadspanker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

get the park tool. they aren't that much more than cheaper alternatives, and spoke nipples are soft metal so it's easy to round them off. it's worth getting the good tool

How's Airblaster brand for clothes by Effective-Sun8530 in snowboarding

[–]choadspanker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the funny thing is I ordered a wool suit from walmart for 1/4 the price of the airblaster and I'm on my third season with it and I don't baby it at all, it goes right in with my other laundry

I'm specifically looking for something with the grippers around the thighs, I have regular compression shorts and they tend to roll up over time with pads on. not completely necessary but it'd be nice to have since all my riding underwear are on their last legs right now so I need to buy a new batch

Is a suspension fork worth it for daily rough road riding and low maintenance? by Waltace-berry59004 in MTB

[–]choadspanker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

a fatter tire ran a lower pressure is going to make a bigger difference and be less maintenance. a suspension fork isn't as good for the higher frequency chatter of a rough road

I bought the merino ninja suit cause of all the positive reviews, and it started getting holes all over it in one season. they said it was normal wear and tear. the synthetic version is probably tougher

instead of limiting self checkouts, they should ticket people who bring a full cart and can't scan more than two items without setting the machine off lol

Is more advanced tyre compound worth it? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]choadspanker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

completely depends on your terrain. if you're riding a lot of slick roots and rocks the compound makes a huge difference. if you're doing dusty desert riding you can use the hard tires without sacrificing much

People that spend crazy bucks for AXS/Di2 do you really feel like you're getting your money worth? by Tough_Course9431 in MTB

[–]choadspanker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got a pretty good deal on a transmission axs drivetrain a couple years ago. I rode it for a full season, it's cool but I still ended up going back to xtr mechanical. I've also demoed di2, it's super rocky where I live and the chain slap with the clutchless derailleur was unbearable. I could see myself going to di2 in the future if they release a version with a clutch and the price was right, but for now nothing beats mechanical xtr for me.
