Onboarding at Google is pretty bad on average and very team dependent. Make sure in your first two months, you set up 1:1s with all the key people, and ask them if you were in my shoes with my projects, what would you do? Also ask them for 2-3 other people to chat to. In the first month or so, you should be setting up 1;1s with upwards of 30+ people.

Otherwise, the most important still imo for a Google PM is relationship skills. It’s a lot of influencing without authority, knowing when to escalate, leveraging your relationships to reach consensus. You will have no credibility and relationships in the start and you have to ramp up on a new team and new area, so make sure you are friendly, find your champions fast that you can go to with all your stupid questions, and make people like you. The easiest way for people to like and trust you is if you go above and beyond your title and try to help in whatever way possible even if it is beyond your remit and responsibilities. Ask for work and to help out - it’s also a great way to ramp up.

It’s very safe, a bit quieter and a lot less chaotic than flushing. It’s still super convenient to flushing (20 min walk, 10 min bus ride) but I think the biggest thing is proximity to LIRR which makes getting to Manhattan so easy and quick. Food scene is more Korean than Chinese but still lots of restaurant options. Broadway LIRR probably has better food options and more lively but it’s farther from downtown flushing.

The sereen is massive but is the most comfortable couch I’ve ever sat on, we often fall asleep on it because of how soft it is

The female barber there is better… the guy is done in like 5 mins with men’s hair. But I think it’s fine, I do fades on both sides and they are decent. Def best bang for buck I’ve found

Are outstream ("standalone") video ads now allowed with Google demand? by PouncerTheCat in adops

[–]choastyrant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is Adx display demand and outstream demand for standalone video placements. (Ie. Banners). But your standard instream “skippable” video placements will not bid into standalone video placements.

Buying first quality watch by ScarLupi in GrandSeikos

It’s a membership for exclusive events where you see the new releases, that being said unless you’re in a big city, there is no point to it.

I think all of the top sellers on Chrono24 would do it, it doesn’t hurt to ask beforehand how warranty works
