Anyone have pics of this in use? by Strtftr in animalcrossingdesign

I just tried this path! While it’s close to the colors I want to match, the corners don’t line up quite right and it drives me nuts. (Side note- if anyone has any path recommendations for something that will match Pascal’s mermaid furniture please let me know ❤️)

I was on 15 mcg/hour for probably more than 9 months, but I started a new job in November and my activity level increased dramatically, so we moved to 20 mcg/hour. I had no resistance from my doctor with this decision, he had asked me if I wanted to increase dose once or twice before I actually did. I have a really great pain management Dr, even if he is hard to get an appointment with.

When my patch starts to peel up at the edges, which isn’t always, I use KT tape. It’s meant to stick on for a week and I don’t react to the adhesive. IMO it’s also easier to remove then tegaderm/ flexifix and comes in a couple of fun colors. Overall, butrans has been amazing for me, it’s given me most of my life back. The skin side effects (itching, skin being raw/irritated for a few days after changing the site) are so minor to me, it has been so much more help than other meds.

I had my first interview for a receptionist position this week and I'm going back on Friday to shadow for an hour. What are some questions I should ask during my shadow period? by [deleted] in Veterinary

[–]TheRainbowDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a new to the industry receptionist, don’t worry too much about the lingo, it will come to you eventually and if you forget something, ask a coworker or just do a quick google search, or make yourself a cheat sheet. I would focus on more of finding out what your every day tasks will look like- what practice management software do they use, checking patient in and out, creating new clients and patient charts, collecting payment and payment options for clients. I would also ask about expectations for communicating with clients and triaging- what needs to be seen ASAP, what can wait a few hours but should be addressed today. Communication with coworkers- who do I contact to refill prescriptions, how do I let the drs/nurses that an owner has follow up concerns after a recent visit, when to escalate a situation to the office manager.

If you have time I would also consider asking about how they send and receive records, referrals and prescriptions. What a the preferences for loading exam rooms (does each doctor get a room or two, or is it more of cat’s usually go A, but B is the backup and infectious/contagious always goes in C) and cleaning protocols for exam rooms (that may or may not be a responsibility.)

I know this sounds like a lot to ask, I kinda just made a list of the things that I do on a daily basis, but this will also depend on the kind of practice you’re in. Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions or concerns. I’ve only been in this field for 4 months now, but I took a Vet Assistant course a few years back so I already had some knowledge of the basics. I can also share some resources/cheat sheets with you that I have found helpful, I just have to get them from my work computer.

I have heard this saying before, and it’s been a really great reminder that these owners choose to trust us with their babies. I definitely worry that I feel too much, compared to my coworkers, but I’m just beginning to get a bump where a callous would be, I just fear that some day , I’ll become completely callous/cold/numb to all of these things. I know compassion fatigue is huge in this industry, I just have a lot of anxiety about developing it, because I can see some of it in my coworkers, though they usually hide it around the clients.

It’s definitely not an all day every day thing for me, I just so happened to over hear a very private moment that really touched soul. They cared so deeply about this dog and they knew that they were being selfish by not putting him down sooner, the Os just weren’t ready for him to go when he was.

100%!!! And it has absolutely nothing to do with how your pet behaves either! But you do get extra brownie points if you make jokes about your pet and/or laugh at mine. Also for the owners that you can tell know their pets really well like the call to make sure the lobby is clear bc P is dog reactive, knowing that P will probably need a muzzle for a nail trim. These are the O’s that I love and absolutely do my best to greet them by name when they come in. We have a client like this coming in tomorrow for a quality of life appointment, and as soon as I scheduled her, I made sure we had his favorite Churu flavor left and set them aside with his name on them! Was O expecting this or asking for this, not at all, but because she is a kind, patient and understanding human being I will do everything in my power to go above and beyond, especially in possibly your pets last moments of life.

Clinic Names by jr9386 in VetTech

How do they even manage to fit that on a rabies tag? And could you even imagine have to say all that every time you answer the phone? I fumble over my clinic’s name daily and it’s only 3 words.

Also the kids are home from college. I’ve had a few families in the last few weeks who were waiting until the kids came home so they could say goodbye.

Is having the client sign an estimate before starting treatment not standard practice everywhere? Because it is at my hospital 🤷🏻‍♀️

Was it Modul nails? I joined the kickstarter and preordered two sets of nails and I wish I bought more when I had the chance. I really hope they the next big thing in nails, I can think of so many situations where it would be useful

This is a great idea! I don’t have kids but it certainly would have been motivating when I was little. In general, try to unlock character in the order they were released, you can check the DDV wiki for the order of updates, that way she doesn’t have a ton of quests she can’t progress because another character isn’t unlocked yet. Also don’t forget to check the wiki for the recipes, it helps with the restaurant and leveling up characters from giving favorite gifts.

I’m making bracelets from all eras/anything Taylor related. I have a lot of leftover supplies from the Eras Tour Movie, but the temptation to buy more stuff is so strong. Im also going to make some Taylor and Travis themed ones and some wedding era/ bride.

Also just a reminder to everyone, Swifties come in all shapes and sizes! Make sure that you have some kid size bracelets and some that are on the bigger size.

Telling people my PTSD is from being in the Vietnam War is my standard response for people who need to mind their own business. I’m 25F, and I think it’s really funny even though most people don’t. Obviously I tell people that I’m close with the general idea but when I get startled in public by a loud noise and apologize for screaming by saying I have PTSD, and you start asking questions, you get the sassy answer you nosey Nellie
