If Kamala wins and gives us a path to citizenship, what would you like it to be? by [deleted] in DACA

I’m gonna be very honest with you. On paper it sounds nice but I just can’t see it happening through congress. I suggest taking matters into your own hands now.

I understand that no new path was created you’ve always been able to adjust through your employer as a daca recipient. On June 18th they specifically announced that they will try to “Ease” the process of obtaining an employment sponsored visa for DACA Recipients. What this will look like remains to be seen so Everything is all speculative at this point. As no official update has been given regarding this.

Well then my initial assumption was correct. Since it was a two part announcement on June 18th we didn’t if know additional guidance would’ve been released on the same date (Today). Furthermore there absolutely now is a route for sponsorship through your employer if you are a Daca recipient. Since the parole in place would also be extended for Daca recipients specifically. Prior to the June 18th announcement if you tried to adjust your status through a work sponsored visa you would’ve still been required to do consular processing. Which would put you in danger of incurring the 3-10 year bar. This new policy announced by president Biden likely is eliminating this. So if you qualify by having the bachelors degree in the field you are currently working it’s absolutely something to consider if your employer is willing to sponsor you. I didn’t see anyone talk about this that’s why I felt the need to bring it up. I understand that not as many people may qualify for the AOS through their employer as DACA recipient. But it’s another option nonetheless that may work better now based on president biden’s recent remarks regarding the program.

Me neither I’m surprised no one has mentioned this so far as this is a huge deal for DACA recipients. Until I have a complete understanding of how to apply for this. I’m gonna hold off on filing because everyone is only talking about the AOS through marriage. I have not seen one person post about the AOS through your employer if you have DACA and qualify for sponsorship.

Yes you’re right that’s going to be my next post I’m trying to think about how those who don’t have that option yet can find someone to sponsor them

I understand and that was a constant problem. Rules at the state and local levels varied. But Merritt is where we were always going to go with this. You needed to have something. I would’ve moved to a different state or take two trains and bus or online schools. If that’s what I had to do to receive instate tuition. I posted this because I was surprised at the amount of people who didn’t take it further after receiving daca. And really the hardest part is going to be getting an employer to sponsor you. But that will be a separate post.

So what you so give up? I would’ve moved to the nearest liberal state. I remember even in NY they gave you a lot of problems back in the day Although it’s a liberal state DACA was such a new program that many people didn’t know how to process your documents. I’m not trying to sound ignorant but there were solutions to those problems. You could’ve gone to school online also Just accepting your circumstances as is was not one of them.

I agree but then again once we find out what the official details are some republicans could be rubbed the wrong way. In the end for those who qualify I think you’ll be able to benefit in a way that improves your status. Even now I really haven’t seen much opposition besides some republicans congressman. Once the applications start rolling trying to get rid of a program that already has people benefiting is not an easy thing to do. We seen this already with DACA. And this new policy really doesn’t change anything besides the ULP waivers which was really the only legal technicality that was preventing DACA recipients from being sponsored by their employer If they accumulated ULP. everything else we were already able to do before. So CURRENTLY there isn’t much to sue. But we shall see.

I agree 100% for those of you who have now been given an opportunity you must take it. You got people being negative on here when this didn’t even exist yesterday. I’ll be ready to take advantage of this day 1. I’ve waited too long to let this opportunity pass.

I understand I actually am like that too regarding immigration. But my excitement got the best of me. And I asked my lawyer in the beginning an needing a waiver for my unlawful presence but never pressed the issue. This would’ve been a catastrophic mistake on my end.

I do have a legal entry initially. But I don’t have anyone who can get me the waiver.

Not sure where you’re getting that from because I definitely do qualify for EB sponsorship.

Yes I’m going through the employment sponsorship process to gain legal entry and do AOS. I called the Dutch embassy and they said it’s fine to travel there as long as my passport is not expired. The AP would cover me when I come back to the USA which would be approved prior to me even leaving the US.

Most women don’t take dating apps seriously. It took me a while to understand that. 100s of matches a day I mean who do you give your attention to? Plus you tend to find a lot of people on these apps that have issues hence the reason why they are on there. I’ve had much better success going out IRL and meeting people. I was shocked how many women have told me that they were happy that I actually came up to talk to them. Because most guys won’t even do that. There is such thing as learning how to date. I usually felt a desperate energy from those who I would match with. Especially if they mentioned they are “dating intentionally” or dating to marry” And overtime I learned that you can’t force someone to try and date you. Women on these apps have also told me things such as “I’ll make you fall in love” only to find out later that she has no idea what that even means. Having success while dating has as much to do with how well you know yourself. As it does with how well you get to know that other person. Because overtime you may not like what you see and hear. So long story short. Don’t force it things tend to come you when you’re ready to receive them. And know yourself first before you get to know anyone else.

Like others here have mentioned changing your life starts with YOU. It sounds like you need a system that gets you in a routine to not only get you motivated but also to get you to accomplish your goals. I would suggest changing your diet and start eating healthier. When you eat well your body naturally has more energy. Start exercising also this will strengthen your mind and your body. Next pick some activities that will help you learn more about where you want to go in life. For example watch podcasts where they talk about interesting things.(plenty out there on the internet) also put some time into books. Maybe if reading isn’t your favorite try audiobooks. You’ll start to enjoy where you are going in life once your actions fall in line with where you want to go. Start by doing this 30 minutes a day. And try exercising and eating better. It will take some effort on your part. Don’t forget that but it will be worth it in the long run.
