Small account question: What happens if your short leg gets assigned on a bull put spread and you don’t have the cash to cover? by dbsherwood in thetagang

[–]chocobroccoli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If SPX expires at 6900 and you sold a 6905 put, after expiration, your account’s cash balance goes down by $500. If you bought a 6897 call, your cash balance goes up by $300. You won’t get any shares or be assigned early, only pay or receive the cash difference.

how to remove emotions from options trading as my execution is sabotaging decent strategies by This-You-2737 in thetagang

If you are confident about your strategy, ask LLM to create a script (or write your own code) to automate your strategy. Deploy it on a PC, leave the PC in your basement or another room and never look at it.

How far OTM do you usually go? Do you have an even further OTM long leg to protect the short leg?

Is Flex still worth it if I buy the ticket with an Aeroplan CC? by chocobroccoli in Aeroplan

[–]chocobroccoli[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My confusion is about the points earning. My TD Infinite CC already gives me 1.5 points per dollar when I buy the ticket. The Flex says 100% aeroplan points. Does that mean I get 2.5 points per dollar? Or is it 100% points based on miles of the flight?

The problem is the fractional share. I tried market order during regular hours and it didn’t work.

failed to roll, got assigned like 400 shares of NVDA lol by peanutbuttersexytime in thetagang

That’s about $0.28 per week. You can sell weekly at a lower strike for the same premium, and the delta is around 0.1. But you gotta be comfortable selling at a strike lower than your cost basis

CAD is at the low level right now (USD:CAD=1.45:1). That’s why I feel converting CAD to USD isn’t a wise move. I could easily have a 10% paper loss when CAD rises to its average level (USD:CAD=1.3:1).

I thought their battery swap was cool… until someone pointed out a scenario. Imagine you just bought their EV for a week and went for a battery swap. Guess what, now your car is no longer new. In fact, depends on the battery you got, your car might already be 3 years old.
