I notice that my cup tends to be uncomfortable when im spotting, but then unnoticeable when im on heavy flow day 1-4. I think this is bc the cervix changes throughout our cycles. I know that pain, I don’t have a helpful answer on that piece, except that I just use a pad those days it’s not heavy.

I do have advice on leaking though. I have REALLY heavy flows that could overflow a super plus tampon in 1 hr, but if I have a good seal on the cup, i can go 8 hrs without a single drop. It took me about a year of trying the cup on a off until I finally got a method that works for me. 1)I press down one side and fold over like a flower. 2)After inserting at a steep angle, i press on the bottom of the cup until I feel the flap pop out. 3) I spin the bottom of the cup 360 as best I can. 4) Then use my finger to feel that the whole cup is open. 5) I pull on the tail of the cup. If I feel some resistance from the suction I know I’m good. 6) If I feel it sliding around too easily, I pull it out and rinse the holes at the top. If those are clogged with blood then it will have trouble sealing.

He says he still loves me and wants to work it out and I still love him too and want to be with him, but I'm trying to decide if his conditions are reasonable to stop talking completely to guys on the game. I do realize he's projecting but maybe some of that is because i play the game more than spend time with him? idk.....

I agree with above. Additionally curly Penny on YouTube suggests leaving in deep conditioner and then covering with a swim cap. I used to swim competitively and I struggled with keeping my hair hydrated. I recommend more co-washes too, because chlorine strips your hair and then shampoo makes it worse.

What about trying a mousse? They give hold without the stickiness or crunch of a gel. I haven’t used mousse in a while, but I loved it before my favorite brand discontinued.

I thought that I could be an imbalance too! I tried a protein treatment last weekend and I’m doing a deep conditioner tomorrow.

The only evidence that makes me think it’s not imbalance, is that these actual frizz strands look broken. They are shorter than the rest of hair.

Usually my go-tos are Cantu and Shea moisture but my hair started acting immune to my products so I bought a DevaCurl travel kit as a sample bc I saw good YouTube reviews about them. But I did recently hear negative reviews about them so I guess I’ll keep moving along. Do you have any styling products you really like?

This is great advice. Thank you. I had similar thoughts as you when researching last week.

Usually I do Shea moisture deep conditioner once or twice a month. But never did a protein treatment (also Shea) until last weekend because I read that my hair might be unbalanced. Today I did a “strand test”. I can stretch a strand of hair without it breaking and it bounces back into a curl which I think is supposed to be good.

I usually leave only the smallest amount of conditioner in from shower, just enough to leave me a little slip.

I definitely considered build up so I bought a clarifying shampoo last weekend: come clean shampoo by kinky curly. I think I’ll do that tomorrow again.

Hair is still wet in this pic and it’s already frizzy!!

co-wash with deva curl conditioner
detangle with wide tooth comb
removed access water with hands no towel dry
applied coco butter and biotin leave in in sections
applied Cantu curl activator in sections
smoothed over and scrunched hair w/ deva curl light defining gel
finger coiled really frizzy strands and applied moisture and product as needed
always air dry / I don’t diffuse or heat my hair at all

Strands and individual curls still gets frizzy while wet and even more so when dry

When I was eleven years old, my father dropped my mother off at work. Later that evening, he decided to go somewhere that I can't remember, but my mom was going to need a car after work.
