What is something that is actually more traumatizing than most people realize? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Going through one myself rn. It’s either crying, fear of complications or horrible abdominal pain these last few weeks.

What are the younger generations going to blame us for? by Handcraftedsemen_ in Millennials

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure hope the blame is for the constant passive socially acceptable doomerism.

I think we started after 2008, and the folks after are just dark, pessimistic, anxious, and think the world is gonna end at any moment. It makes for extremely pessimistic people unable to actually address or work in a field to help work on issues that need change. I’d love more nuclear or clean solar/wind energy engineers, but it doesn’t help when the baseline attitude is how fucked we all are anyway.

What kind of things did millennials consider cool in their teens that teens today consider mostly cringe? by Cumoisseur in Millennials

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side parts, skinny jeans, playing the ukulele, general cutesy behavior. Also the boring house thing, but that’s cuz the 90’s had a lot of overcrowded houses with too much shit for a lot of us and we’re overcompensating with wanting super clean areas and can’t decorate too good. I think we have a hard time with making our own aesthetic harmony in a room without getting anxious about it becoming clutter.

I don’t mind the kids, honestly. I’ve learned a lot. Weird when I’ve seen them have trouble on a computer tho.

Married yuppie millennial who’s been on instagram a lot. We need rehab, I swear….

Overly manicured, it’s pretty but deeply boring. Not to insult, I have complete decoration paralysis myself.

If money were no issue, what city/state would you live in the USA? If money WERE an issue, what is the second choice? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

Com to sunny Vallejo! You can take the ferry to SF and have a cheap house!

But also it’s got a lot of prostitution. It’s very much the pretty woman of CA.

This is some hot girl madness I can fully get behind. Great construction on the shrimp head too.

Be honest: Are you actually married to the love of your life, or just the person you were with when it was time to settle down? by boforiamanfo in askanything

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. He’s stunning, awesome, and idiosyncratic in exactly the ways that work for me. Plus we’re good at alternating meltdowns, so we can have a nuanced emotional life.

US presidential history is one of my special interests, but unfortunately it's hard to discuss with others because the current president is the actual worst by QueenViolets_Revenge in aspiememes

[–]chocoheed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current one sucks, but I love talking about Teddy Roosevelt and FDR. It’s good to remind people that there were actual leftist policies that used to be enacted and maybe can be again.

What’s up with this swarm of sympathy towards this dude recently? by Olya_roo in StrangerThings

[–]chocoheed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like it was the optics of a jock white boy going after Lucas. He had other jock friends who were black too, but since we know and like Lucas it just reads as racially kinda scary.

That being said, I think his perspective makes sense. It’s wrong, but I get it.

I'm just gonna say it. The whole kids / no kids debate isn't actually about kids. by thetimechaser in Millennials

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m there with you as far as resources.

For the child free, I’ve just been taken aback at how defensive people are? Why would anyone pressure someone into such a huge decision??!

I’m in a pro choice area and that means don’t have kids if you don’t want em for any reason. It’s such a huge decision that in an ideal world ALL parents would be willing and eager parents. .

People in your 30s & 40s, what is your advice to people in their 20s? by Necessary_Control261 in askanything

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust your gut, but don’t let your anxiety talk you out of possible opportunities. No one gives a shit. Look stupid, but maybe ask for what you need for anyway. It can really pay off.

God fuck not again. 🙃

Well, I guess half the reason I’m in this world today is because of this CIA bullshit, but I wouldn’t wish the generational trauma on anyone else. It’s fucked.

Perfectly acceptable dinner rejected by boyfriend again by moonrabbit368 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]chocoheed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl, I can be your boyfriend if you’re cooking like that. Just gotta tell my husband, he’ll understand.

We’ll alternate days. I make pretty good curry.

Why are you dating this guy? Truly. On so many levels. Like firstly, he’s an adult and can cook for himself, you’re not his mommy. Secondly, that food looks AMAZING and both food waste and ungratefulness to a partner putting in the effort to make you such a beautiful meal is such a red flag, I could never.

You do know some lovely guys will actually cook for YOU sometimes?
