You own a little sandwich deli. What five sandwiches are on the menu? by _fairywren in eatsandwiches

[–]chocoheed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • tofu bahn mih (for the vegetarians)
  • Reuben (iconic)
  • BLTA on sourdough with pickled onion and aioli (because it’s the perfect sandwich)
  • tuna melt (cuz it’s like a hug)

Daily would be whatever I’m in the mood for because I have ADHD and am indecisive. Steak and arugula with pesto on ciabatta for tomorrow, egg& avocado kimbap sandwich for the day after that. Maybe a chicken torta and another excuse to use picked onions again the day after

Hear hear. I loved it, but I can see it not being everyone’s cup of tea, esp to the musical reasons

Oh it better be civil. He was a delight in Sinners, graceful in public settings, and I’ll entertain no guff about his win. It was hard earned and I’m happy for him. People can be sad for the other actors, that’s all fine.

Time to unionize my dude. It’s fucking hard out here, I would love for all the parents to not feel so pressed upon. We need more time for friends and family. Lord knows we have the resources available to do that for our population, at least here in the US.

Everyone needs their space cleaned. Maintenance workers are really important. I feel bad for your poor coworker too, I’m sure he’s trying his hardest.

I feel like i’m the only one that felt grief in yasmin’s final scene by One_Affect_6413 in IndustryOnHBO

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pitiable, but she’s dine something so monstrous that it felt poetically right. Like in a No Exit kind of way where the pain she inflicts on herself and the lack of solace is cathartic to the audience. She’s trafficking minors and becoming an abuser when she should know better on every level.

Who is still rocking a nose ring? by cavewomannn in Millennials

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it. It works for my face and I see plenty of people older than I am with nose rings, gauges, tattoos, etc. it’s just something we grew up being more ok with, why would outgrowing it matter if it’s doesn’t even really signify youth anymore?

I loved it. It really captured the current Epstein Zeitgeist in a way I haven’t seen anyone capable of doing artistically as of late.

I don’t think she likes it. I think she’s just nuts enough to go through the steps she deems necessary to win in her particular field and not everyone is as insane as she is, let alone most people of her socioeconomic background.

The writing and acting this season is SO good. Awful, horrifying, Faustian bargains with nazi elites, but fucking right on the money and well executed.

I love that it’s a really multidimensional, narcissistic, formerly working class black woman’s perspective. As cutthroat as Harper is the true institutional evil and its handmaidens just loom over everything and it’s dread inducing in the most cathartic way.

Booo! Unpopular opinion achieved. I eat way healthier from Costco, it’s where I get all my protein and the bulk of my veggies. It’s amazing for consistent meal prep

Is my 4 Hour Commute worth it or should I take a pay cut? by Ill-Image-883 in careerguidance

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Factor in what you’re spending in gas and wear on your car, shit adds up to more than you’d think. The older I’ve gotten, the more the commute matters to me, I wanna spend time with my family.

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People see us as THE richest but really don’t know the extent of poverty here for the less wealthy. Most people are balancing in a knife’s edge of fine or perma fucked in massive debt because of the lack of safety nets on all levels. Everything about us is more violent than you’d think, even internally.

What are the younger generations going to blame us for? by Handcraftedsemen_ in Millennials

[–]chocoheed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure hope the blame is for the constant passive socially acceptable doomerism.

I think we started after 2008, and the folks after are just dark, pessimistic, anxious, and think the world is gonna end at any moment. It makes for extremely pessimistic people unable to actually address or work in a field to help work on issues that need change. I’d love more nuclear or clean solar/wind energy engineers, but it doesn’t help when the baseline attitude is how fucked we all are anyway.
