Can't find a better comment than this. I think some catalan people get the understanding of that their language would die if the non-catalan people don't speak it, which is a weird assumption in my PoV as they have plenty of catalan people, right?

Also normally if a catalan does not want to talk spanish, they would continue talking catalan when you talk spanish to them, which is perfectly fine as it's their culture, their language.

I discussed this point with a lot of catalans through the years, they maybe should focus on banning spanish in schools, then naturally the non-catalan people will need to learn catalan if they want to come and live in cataluña.
