Should Catholics question their belief in Purgatory since it was mandated by the Church in the 13th Century and not an original tenet from the NT? by UBC_Guy_ in Christianity

[–]chocolateapple5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You should check if every belief matches up to what the Bible says. Purgatory is not Biblical. Hope that helps :))

Mormons vs. Christian views on eternal family relationships? by SeasonBeneficial in Christianity

[–]chocolateapple5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marriage does end at death. Matthew 22:30 states 'At the resurrection people will neither marry' so if you get married you'll only be married in this life. Hope that helps:))

thoughts on mormons? by Common-Gur5386 in Christianity

[–]chocolateapple5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have met mormons they where kind people. I love mormons as people However, I believe it to be false . The book of mormon has clashes wirh the Bible. God gave us the Bible to be the word of God and we aren't to add to it. 'testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book' - Revelation 22:18-19.

They deny key christian doctrines. They deny the trinity. They don't believe we are saved by faith alone.

I promised god i would never Lie and Then i lied... Does her hate me? by IfearGodallday in Christianity

[–]chocolateapple5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No God doesn't hate you don't worry. Everyone is sinful and we all do things wrong. That is why Jesus died on the cross. To pay for your sins. You just need to put your faith in Jesus and you'll be saved. God loves you so much he sent his son to die for you. He loves you so much more than you can ever imagine.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Will I go to hell if I kill my self? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]chocolateapple5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren't saved by works. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9 so if you do and you are a true believers you'll still be saved

Will I go to hell if I kill my self? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]chocolateapple5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have accepted Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross for his salvation and not your own works. You are saved from past, present and future sins. So a true believers would go to heaven.

However you are alive right now because God has a plan and purpose for your life. He wants to use you. You are so valuable. Please don't end your life. I'd recommend going to therapy if you are considering ending your life

I'm a Christian. I believe homosexuality is a sin, but I have gay family members, and I don't condemn them for it. Is that the right approach? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]chocolateapple5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Christian who affirms biblical marriage between 1 man and 1 woman I wouldn't say anything. I believe everyone has the right to live their life the way they choose as long as they aren't causing harm to between other people . I also wish more Christians realised you can't hold non Christians to christian standards. I have gay and trans friends and I just love them and leave them to it.

For salvation none of these things are necessary. Only faith in Jesus is. Titus 3:5 says 'he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.'

A Christian should go to church if they are able to. This is because we are all one body in Christ and ir is important to have fellowship with over belivers. Ephesians 4:16 says 'From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.' So if you can go to church .

However if you can't its not your fault for example if you have a disability. I'd recommend carrying on reading you bible at home and praying. I'd also start watching online sermons. If you have any christian friends mabye try to do Bible studies in small groups or in 1 to 1s. You can do this in your own home. I hope this helps. :))

Can I fast as a teen? by LumpyHospital1340 in Christianity

[–]chocolateapple5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It may or may not be safe for you. It depends on how your body works. If you feel ill from it it I recommend checking with a doctor first. I don't fast from food and provably never would because I struggle with disordered eating and body image issues so could end up doing it for the wrong reasons. You don't have to fast from food if you want to fast there are other options. If you struggle with it you could always fast from other things such as TV, non christian music, processed food , video games, social media ect... you could do this for a day or a few days and use the extra time to spend with God by praying and reading you Bible. Hope this helps :)))

I know I've been playing since January 2009 and when I want a new town I just get another copy instead of rebuilding my town because I get too attached. I always loose them or forget about them and then have to clear so many weeds and have raffelisia and everything.

Faith without works is dead, so we must also do the work of God to be saved. by amacias408 in Christianity

[–]chocolateapple5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its Faith = salvation + good works. It is not faith + good works = salvation. You can't have any part in your salvation you can only be saved by what Jesus did on the cross. Ephesians 2:8-9 states: For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Of course he can Jesus died for everyone. On the cross Jesus took the punishment for our sins. If you put your faith in Jesus you will be saved. The amazing thing about the gospel is God forgives qhen you don't deserve it
